The place is very clean and the food is delicious. There is a language barrier with half of the staff there. Other than that I would definitely recommend if you like oxtails, rice and peas, chichirone ( if I spelled it right) and fish!!!💯

1/5 stars - Avoid Monica's Restaurant in Philly! Horrible service and subpar food. Ordered a to-go plate with lamb, but got a bunch of boneless meat and rice. When I brought it to the server's attention, she was rude and defensive, claiming that's how the dish was supposed to be. Language barrier wasn't an issue when she wanted to be nasty. Food was bland and tasteless. Not worth the money. Will not be returning. for the record, you suppose to always accommodate your guess when you’re running any type of establishment.

Great, authentic food!! Eating food from here is like walking into a relatives kitchen and getting a home cooked meal. It just tastes like a lot of love goes into it. The staff are always friendly.

Miss Monica alone is in her shop everyday she's Hands-On with every customer she is the most respectful person her restaurant is very clean her food is beyond amazing and everything is fresh right in front of you
This place is a hidden gem Monica is a sweet Spanish lady and her food doesn't disappoint. I got ribs and beans and rice I'd show you picks but I devoured it. Go she a good lady next to the projects gotta try stuff you would not normally
