Went there before the symphony, a block orc2 away. Quick, friendly service. Order at the counter and they bring it out. Serve yourself water. My nephew had the lamb and chicken gyro meat combo, which comes with salad, rice and couscous. Alot of food. I loved the Falafel with Greek salad, cabbage, and hummus. The unique pita bread, I believe, is Turkish. All so delicious!
It looks like most of the reviews are a few years old so I'll update this. Gyro King is now set up across from the Westin hotel at 17th and market. Prices have gone up a bit. It's no longer $5 but it's still pretty cheap: $7 for a gyro and $8 for a platter, both of which come with a drink. The food is delicious. I love the rice. I love the cubes of gyro meat. My friend and I were pleasantly surprised by how many Middle Eastern items were on the menu. The name "Gyro King" does not convey how many fresh salads and veggie-friendly & gluten free options are also available. The place felt comfortable and unlike any of the fast food establishments on the block.
