Bring your own atmosphere/group and eat outside. Indoors has zero sound dampening, so crazy loud and near impossible to hear, be heard or be sociable. It's potentially a great community resource, but does nothing to reduce noise levels and help facilitate actual conversations. Hence other neighbors also will not sit inside - only outside.
Everything you want your local tavern to be. Great food, wide beer selection, cheap, and really friendly staff. We bring everyone here.
Friendly staff and patrons. Great beer selection also.
We enjoy bringing our family. Food and drinks always on par. We all enjoyed the dry rub wings. Never overly crowded. Indoor and outdoor seating. Can't wait to revisit.
A friendly place offering absolutely terrible food and flat beer at least what we had.
The truffle fries were probably a frozen product warmed up to soggy and covered with a thick crust of salt. The spinach artichoke dip was glop with poor quality extra salty chips. The Kolsch? Equally poor. I got a Gruner Veilter instead for $9 and it was not worth it. My guess us the bottle cost $12
The great thing about MATR is the neighbor vibe. We keep trying to make it our neighborhood spot, but...service is spotty. Our wait person spent the evening giving her co-workers's boyfriend the vip treatment. We got our ketchup from the bartender (who is great). Ordered a kale salad to split, but couldn't get anyone's attention to bring small plates over. We ha e decided to only go with friends or get soup, salad, and beer at the bar. The mussels are pretty great.
A place to go in Philly. Shrimp po boy is my favorite. Generous drinks and good service. Highly recommended.

Way too expensive, but good drinks!
First time here. Loved the atmosphere, customer service, and drinks. Had the shrimp ceasar salad didn't like the dressing, it had too much vinegar in it. Fries and bbq wings were good, too. Definitely would recommend going and enjoying yourself.

Great tap list, solid food and a terrific relaxed atmosphere. Warm-weather deck is the best in the neighborhood.

This place is a win! It has it all. Great food. I mean stellar. The vibe is good and the drinks are well made. We dropped in for quizzo too. On a Tuesday night the house was packed. The service was on point. The bonus is the owner is just an awesome dude. He genuinely cares about his masterpiece of a place. Best kept secret in the area. Go and enjoy!

One of the best places to eat in the neighborhood. We take out of town guests here regularly.
