The best chirashi bowls in Philly. Period. You would be silly to go anywhere else.
Our first time having omakase at this location but not our first with Chef Mitsutaka. One of the best omakase experiences I have had and absolutely love his miso cod. Everything pictured was delicious and such a culinary experience!
Spicy Seafood Udon! Udon cooked perfectly, tender but still a bit chewy, generous shrimp, squid, fish cake, and a bit of lobster in a well-balanced broth that's just a bit smoky and just a bit sweet, with enough spice to leave my lips tingling.

Nakama Japanese Cuisines & Omakase (BYOB) offers an amazing experience with omakase. The service and food are absolutely exceptional, with servers who are sweet and accommodating. Head Chef and Owner Mitsui is very friendly, caring, and extremely fun to talk to, with a wealth of knowledge to share. The food quality is very good, using seasonal and Japanese ingredients. Guests enjoy multiple courses at the sushi counter, including a 15 course omakase with unique dishes. The sushi is incredible, with fresh ingredients and unique flavor/textures. The chef explains everything and really cares about the experience. It is well worth the money, especially for a special occasion. The whole experience is fun and engaging, with every dish hitting differently but flowing together perfectly. It is a very special experience and Philly’s Best Kept Secret. Nakama is a top restaurant recommendation in Philadelphia.
