So excited to see Abel back in Queen Village, he’s the best sushi chef. His preparations are fish-forward, not filled with tempura crunchies like many places. The main staple for me is the Monroe Street, with Abel’s incredible spicy tuna, scallions, tobiko and avocado. Ask for it as nigiri or a hand roll and you won’t be disappointed. Every single thing on our plate was amazing.

Great sushi, very fresh fish. Rolls are large, texture is soft. The only thing I didn’t love was the 4% CUST fee after paying with my credit card, which wasn’t explained to me or in the menu

I'm 41 and have been eating sushi since I was 7. I had my first spicy tuna roll in the 90's. I've eaten sushi all over the world. My point is not to impress you but to illustrate that I am an informed sushi eater.Nikai, and most importantly, sushi chef Abel, is my favorite. I only put Royal Izakaya's Omakase in the same category, though the two are very different.I'd been eating at Abel's sushi bar at Hikaru for more than a decade and when it closed, I was heartbroken. The rolls Abel prepares are simply without competition. Abel is a sushi genius. Full stop. Here's what you need to know...The best spicy tuna you will EVER have in your life can be found by eating "the Monroe St handroll." It's not on the menu, but if you ask for it, he will make it.One of the best rolls you'll ever eat in your life is the "Sunshine King handroll" it is a spicy crab roll with roe and avocado and it's magical."The south street roll" is a salmon roll with scallions and mayo. Though it sounds simple it is a perfect creation with texture you will crave. I've literally eaten hundreds and it never gets old. I crave it weekly.I could go on and on about how great the sushi is here. But the best thing you can do is just go in, any night, and ask the sushi chef to give you what he "makes for Jeff and Erica." Don't skip the nigiri or sashimi, Abel must have the insider status with his fish purveyor because the cuts are the highest quality. This is my go to place. I'm literally there weekly.

Found this hidden gem when I visited the Society Hill area with friends. This Sushi Restaurant is located on the second floor of Mustard Greens Chinese Cuisine. We were lucky to have the opportunity to sit at the bar and see how the Sushi was made. I can tell that the chef has years of experience. The fishes were fresh and the sushi was excellent. Surely will visit this restaurant again in the future.

Fresh fish, great ingredients, vibey neighborhood spot. And for those who know, they brought in the long time sushi chef from hikaru who is just the best

Phenomenal sushi and even better service. Mustard Greens is my favorite restaurant in philly, but when I'm hankering for sushi - I have to go to Royal Izakaya on 2nd st but there's rarely a table available. Now Mustard and Nikai is under one roof, a QV foodie's dream come true. They've been busy since they've opened but any wait is totally worth it, give this place a try.

This is the most exquisite, succulent—let’s face it—downright erotically good sushi on the 600 block of 2nd Street. Go on Wednesday mornings.

My wife and I are huge fans of Mustard Greens so decided to give the new sushi restaurant upstairs a try. We were blown away by the quality of fish, friendliness of the staff and overall ambiance. Hands down the best sushi I’ve had in Philly. Highly recommend the specialty rolls, they are all out of this world. Such a treat to have such high quality sushi in the neighborhood.

Nikai was an incredible sushi experience. If you’re looking for a new spot to try I couldn’t recommend this place enough. Friendly waitstaff, speedy but gourmet service and delicious food. Don’t sleep on their apps!

We were looking for a new sushi place for date night and stumbled upon this place. Wonderful service, super fresh, high quality sushi, and cute atmosphere. They also serve sake and wine :) We’ll definitely be back!

The Crunch Me roll is to die for! We were not happy when Hikaru closed... and now Abel the chef is back in the neighborhood! The menu is not huge and is easy to navigate, at the same time, it is carefully curated. The dining space also has a cool feel -- nice background music and calm design. A great place to have good food and conversation.

This place was lights out GOOD! Came with a few friends I hadn't seen for a while and we had a great time. Together we had the Nikai roll, Abel's roll, and the Crunch Me roll. Honestly, I haven't had sushi this good in years. I was really expecting for a run of the mill experience but I was happy to be blown away. Truly quality sushi. While you can't go wrong with any of those rolls, I personally couldn't get enough of the Crunch Me.On top of that I got a little side of Maguro as a treat, which was *chef's kiss*The staff was also super friendly and hooked us up with some sake, so needless to say, I will be back here. Treat yourself and check this place out!

So pumped to have a QV neighborhood sushi bar with the absolute freshest fish without exorbitant prices. The Society Hill roll is hands down my favorite. Ask Chef Abel to torch the salmon! Unreal that I now have 2 of my favorite restaurants under 1 roof (Mustard Greens is THE Chinese restaurant in Philly)

Absolutely delicious rolls with high quality fish AND they serve cocktails. Bon—the owner even came out to check on us as we enjoyed our dinner. Such a nice place.
