We had our work holiday party with Paddy Whacks on South Street and couldn’t have been more pleased! The party options are a great deal with an open bar and appetizers. The set up process was seamless and the staff at Paddy Whacks was extremely helpful and kind. Would definitely recommend for any larger party!

Located on South Street at Second Street in the Headhouse area of Philadelphia this Irish bar has terrific bar food and is a great place to watch sports. They have 2 bars in separate rooms with booths along the perimeter walls. My favorite Happy Hour spot in this area for they have 3 dollar Guinness pints. The bar and food servers are friendly doing their job professionally with a pleasant smile. They also have a juke box which is rare to find these days and have another establishment in Northeast Philly behind the strip mall on Welsh Road.
Vegetarian options: It's a bar
Dietary restrictions: None
Parking: Good luck
Kid-friendliness: Leave them home
Wheelchair accessibility: I think they have a ramp

The service is friendly... Which as others have mentioned is the best that can be said here.
We went on a Saturday afternoon and they have open seating. It was a solid 10 minutes before someone approached our table and took our drink order. The beer is not properly carbonated and you can tell their lines are dirty I also used the mens restroom and had to inform a staff member there is no soap in the bathroom...scary. I hope their staff doesn't use this restroom because no man in this joint is washing their hands.
Although friendly our server got every part of our order wrong. We ordered a cheeseburger with mayo and it came out dry. We ordered tacos with no pico and they came out with pico. The order itself took almost 30 minutes.
Not a great experience and won't be coming back. Mostly a cheesy decorated imitation of an Irish pub with bad drinks and inattentive service.

Blond waitress was the best !!!!!!
I have historically enjoyed dining here when in the area, today not so much. Monday evening and the place was empty, service was slow. Food is a little pricier than I recall, but the portion size was small and I didn't feel like the price and serving size matched up. The food was good and I enjoyed it.
It was however clean.

Good selection of beers, great service and good live music in the background with the football on the screens.

The staff are very friendly. That's the only positive thing about this place. The place is big, but there wasn't a soul there other than the staff. Creepy. I ordered a Guinness and burger. The beer was great, but the burger was simply horrible. I promptly finished my beer, paid my check and left. Maybe I caught them on a bad day? Dunno. I won't go back.

OVERCHARGE for drinks. Food was pretty lame, but overcharging for drinks is bad for business. Do yourself a favor and get better food anywhere else, and you wont' be overcharged for beers.

I went there last night with friends for a drink. By the time we left, we all agreed, this must be one of the worst place in the world! Gin and tonic was served in plastic cups and it was 99% ice. The draft beer was completely flat and it had a funny taste of dirty dishes. Sitting outside on a warm summer night, we had the opportunity to enjoy a constant traffic of obnoxious, motorcyclist, blasting loud music and their loud motorcycles. However the worst part was the pungent smell of trash coming from somewhere around there. ?

Like everything else about south Street, a dud.
We were there on Mothers Day, early evening and there was only one other couple in the place. It was dead, like most of South Street. The food and service were excellent. I was so disappointed at all of the empty businesses & storefronts. The violence in this city is destroying so many great areas.
