Absolutely stunning dinner at Pietramala. The chicory salad with cashew cheese and smoked olives was sublime and hands-down the best salad I've ever had; the cacio e pepe, also made with cashew cheese, was fantastic, with beautifully fresh handmade pasta cooked to perfection. The black pearl mushroom with potato was transcendent, smoky and caramel-y with an amazing texture and served over amazingly rich but light mashed potatoes. We also loved the crimini carpaccio (beautifully presented, loved the citrus notes) and hazelnut ice cream and enjoyed the nonalcoholic cocktails, which were herby and refreshing without being sweet. Possibly the best restaurant I've been to in almost 20 years as a vegetarian/vegan, and really nice ambience and great service as well.

Who would’ve guessed that one of the best vegan restaurants is located in Philly? We dined at the restaurant on a Saturday evening and the experience was exceptional. Everything we tasted was on point. We especially enjoyed the dishes with cashew cheese (the chicory salad and cacio e Pepe) but other dishes were great as well. Mushroom “steak” was one of the best that we had tried with great smoky flavor from the charcoal roast. Cremini carpaccio was done well, every ingredient playing a part and combining into delicious bites. We found that some of the mushroom pieces that hadn’t been touched by the grace of the seasoning and nuts were not as good. Ice cream was good but it didn’t wow us as much as other dishes. But these are very nitpicky complaints. Every dish was thoughtfully put together and tasted great. The service was fantastic as well.

A transcendent experience! We sat at the counter and it was awesome to have the chefs serve us the dish and talk about what goes into it. The food was amazing, especially as vegetarians. We felt like you couldn’t go wrong with any of the dishes on the menu. While the beer is not on tap and the cocktails may not have been served at the ideal temperature, this did not impact our overall experience and definitely an improvement from when we went last. Would recommend this place to anyone!

It was the perfect place to take myself out on a solo date, but I can clearly see that if I were to plan a night out without others here, a reservation is the only way. The food bursts with flavor and no single ingredient hogs the spotlight, so whatever you order, you’ll get a full flavor rollercoaster. The music was so nice and perfect volume. Can’t emphasize enough how amazing the food is and how hospitable the chef, cooks, and servers are—truly exceptional.

This was honestly better than I had hoped it would be. They really weren't trying to make the ingredients into anything other than what they were, which was perfect, fresh and delicious. The staff was top notch and the space was cozy. The food ranged between excellent and jaw dropping. It also qualifies for the highest complement I can give any restaurant. I was plotting my return before I had even left.
