This is a small cafe with a bunch of vegan options. Great food. Cute little space.

Philly's got some solid vegan restaurants but in my experience, this is the only one where Dr. Michael Greger may drop in to see Chef Alice and crash your lunch party.
But that's not even my favorite part about this place — it's a cafe really devoted to the mission of nourishing health through good food. Absolutely delicious every single time. The smoothies are the best in the area and everything is so fresh and satisfying. Always a true joy to visit here.

Joy Cafe is a haven for healthy and delicious food. The veggie wrap, bursting with flavor and freshness, and the ramen with BBQ seitan are standout dishes. The restaurant takes pride in its homemade ingredients, including vegan cream cheese. The peaceful back garden is a perfect spot to enjoy a meal, and customers can try tasty smoothies like the Green Giant or Coco Loco. With ample parking in a busy section of the city, Joy Cafe offers a nourishing and happy dining experience.
The owners are described as really nice and welcoming, and the atmosphere is comfortable and not upscale. The menu features good vegan options that transcend the genre while still harkening back to 1990s health food vibes. The interiors are charming, and the food is enjoyable, though the total cost may be a bit higher than expected. While the service can be slow at times, the staff is friendly, and the variety of options makes Joy Cafe a place worth trying.
