Leaving two stars because the keg was fresh but holy heck the vibes were awful. 4 people seemly working all drunk and slurring their speech. I don’t expect a dive bar to a bastion of stellar service but I can honestly say this was the 2nd worst bar I’ve ever been too.

My favorite main street bar! All the bartenders are freaking awesome. I prefer when it's not jammed with kids, but what is there to do about that really, ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT BIG RUBE ISNT THERE MAKING HIS MAC AND CHEESE EVERYDAY ALL EVENING..... LITERALLY THE BEST MAC AND CHEESE IVE EVER TASTED IN MY LIFEEEEE (besides my nana's)

I've been to this hole in the wall maybe 5 times over the past 4 years. Though the service is slow, selective on who they attend to, and serve low quality food (even for a dive) the bar staff have been reasonable considering it's Philly, etc. My last time at Pitchers Pub was awful (New Year's day 2024). I would like to tell both bartenders working that night they are unprofessional snobs. Apparently putting money on the bar is rude to those 2 snowflakes. Bartenders were stuck up and door guys is a weirdo.

Terrible service people working there. Horrible at their job. The dart board area in the back is cool but the staff is SO weird. I won't go into it but I've had some very strange and unprofessional experiences with the staff at this hole more than a couple of times. CREEPS!

10/10 service. 10/10 atmosphere if you like lively. Everyone was here on a quiet weekend! 1000000/10 food. Cheesesteaks are better than the places you read about online. Extensive draft list with a unique selection. BEST bar in Philly!!!

Don't be put off by the one star for atmosphere. This is a DIVE bar, and they're well aware of it. It's SUPPOSED to be a dive bar, and you AIN'T gettin' a $6 Tullamore Dew at the Four Seasons. Staff is genial and efficient. If you sit at the bar (and there are few other choices) be prepares to engage in a conversation with a perfect stranger, and he may or may not be wearing a shirt. Chef Big Rube burns some down-home chow with surprising spins like Halal and grass-fed beef. Rolls are custom made by Carangi (the famous S. Philly bakery) and if it's not too busy, the chef will pop out of the kitchen for some engaging chat with you. It's not your AVERAGE dive bar !

Big Rube served up some delicious fried chicken and burgers! I had a great time watching the Phillies while eating with my son.

BIG RUBE!!!! I ordered off the menu cheese steak egg rolls and truffle fries. Amazing. Bartenders were great. It was such a good experience that we came back the next day after dinner.

I love Pitchers for watching the games. I love their mac and cheese. But tonight (playoffs Giants game) the blonde bartender was so out of it that we sat there for 15mins at the bar until we got our first beer. Everytime, I made eye contact she ignored me until I literally had to raise my hand like I was sitting behind a desk, not a bar. The service from her didn't get any better until her coworker took over. If this was my first experience at my beloved Manayunk pub then I'd have never come back. Sober up, fellow Blondie.

This place is an absolute winner. You got kind and courtesy bar staff, great food from Chef Rube, tv's to watch all sporting events and a huge selection of local and imported beers. Just a winning combination across the board. 10 star establishment ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️!
