About Pitchers Pub

Pitchers Pub is a favorite main street bar with awesome bartenders. The atmosphere is lively, perfect for a weekend hangout. The food is rated 1000000/10, especially the famous mac and cheese. Known for their better-than-online cheesesteaks and unique draft selection, it’s considered the BEST bar in Philly. Despite being a dive bar, the staff is friendly and efficient. Chef Big Rube serves up down-home chow with surprising twists like Halal and grass-fed beef. Custom rolls from a famous S. Philly bakery add to the unique experience of this not-so-average dive bar. Customers consistently praise Big Rube for delivering high-quality food, especially the cheesesteak, which is often called the best they've ever had. While the ambiance has a dive bar vibe, the prices are fair, though service can sometimes be less than perfect. The small, hole-in-the-wall setting gives it a true dive bar feel, but the great drinks and friendly staff make it a fun spot for a night out. The lively crowd and welcoming attitude ensure it remains a favorite for those seeking an authentic Philly dive bar experience.

Pitchers is a spot I go strictly for shots in between bar hopping around Manayunk. I used to stay to grab 1-2 drinks since it’s usually me and my girlfriends. We came to a conclusion that it’s fun for a shot or two, but then to carry on since it’s more of a sports bar (nothing wrong with that!)

There are regulars and college students that go here which is cool. It’s a diverse group, but I’ve noticed more guys drink here.

Monday night nice and quiet. Really enjoyed myself. Bourbon wings were delicious.
Why is this place so gross? Not cleaning up after yourself isn’t an aesthetic. I understand that it’s a “shitty dive bar “but you could scrub your toilets. That’s easy to do… makes me wonder what else you don’t clean. The service is just fine and the atmosphere is exactly what you would expect so if you don’t enjoy that, I would recommend going home. I’m not gonna order food at a place like this.
