Great place to grab some food and play a game
Q&R has amazing youth programming that doesn't seem to get much love in the reviews here. We've had nothing but wonderful experiences with the summer camps, day camps, youth D&D, and Saturday Pokemon meetups. The staff create a truly welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for the kids and they're responsive to any of our concerns or anything we need for our child. Thanks for making summers and days off so great!
This place is a cool location to play some games. That being said, there are a lot of issues they need to work out that have been consistent across my visits.
-The food is not good. The seitan is almost always overcooked. They fry it until its hard as a rock. If you bring up this issue, they will correct you and say that's how it's supposed to be. Also, its not really clear that they're a vegetarian establishment to begin with.
-The service is some of the worse I've ever had. The food comes out inconsistently and very slow. The staff is somehow both overworked and inattentive. They also frequently forget parts of the order since not everything comes out consistently. I waited an hour for an order of fries, but everyone else at my table had their orders, some of which included fries.
-The mandatory tip is super disrespectful when the service is that bad and no one is doing anything about it
I want to keep coming here. I like the overall vibe, and the magic community that plays there is supe4 friendly and comfortable to play with, but the establishment overall needs a lot of work, but mostly needs to take constructive criticism to heart and not just deflect concerns with excuses and no real solutions. The reviews suggest they've been doing just that for years. It's a shame. This place could be great all around, but it isn't. Please do better.
After 90 mins of ordering our food I finally asked our server if there is a problem with it? Her answer was the printer didn’t print the ticket. So she is putting the order in now. So I am informing her that I order was lost? It was embarrassing to watch her not engage with us the rest of our time. So sad because we made the best of our time playing board games and the food was ok at best. So frustrating to have a server and establishment which was not busy completely ignore a massive mistake.
Friendly staff, super cozy interior, delicious food and such a wide variety of board games
Ordered a mac n cheese from my child, however they never brought it out. Waitresses kept telling me the food would come out but never did. Approximately after waiting for 35 mins we canceled the mac n cheese order. Never again
Can't speak to the food because we just had deserts and drinks but the host was extremely welcoming, attentive and recommended some age-appropriate games for me and my family (small kids). We had a fabulous time and the amount of games available was impressive. Fun original spot on South St.

I went here for the first time just now and all I can say is WOW! From the moment I stepped in I felt the welcoming, fun vibes. And as I left? Dallas made sure to introduce themself to me and thank my boyfriend for bringing me. The icing on the cake was the bathrooms—as someone with inflammatory bowel disease, I LOVED that part of the “welcome in” speech was saying where all the bathrooms are. Then when I went to the one downstairs, they were all PRIVATE (yay for no awkward eye contact with people!) and there’s even a mirror in the corner to see if someone was coming (as a woman on my own, I appreciated the extra safety!).
Seriously amazing—I see why my boyfriend has been raving about this place. You have a real treasure here, and I’m so excited to come back one day. ?

Amazing space, so atmospheric and makes the gaming and dining experience so fun! We had amazing wood-fired pizza, guizhou fries (spicy!), Korean cauliflower (delicious) and a bunch of fancy NA cocktails :) Selection on menu (all vegetarian!) and also game library is incredible and the basement arcade (complete w pinball and air hockey) is authentic; great service and kind owners, very local and eclectic clientele; good times!

Service is always the same. Your table will be forgotten about by your server. Love the food and the games, though!

Made a quick stop here for food and ended up staying a while. Lots of good food options if you have restrictions. The arcade on the lower level is worth a visit as well. Will definitely stop back when I’m in town again.

A great family-friendly place! We came early and saw a lot of other families playing games. They had games to accommodate just about every age, we even saw a 3 year old playing games! They had high chairs, a changing table in the bathroom and our waiter asked if we needed anything for child, which we appreciated. Also had a kids menu! We'll be back for family game night.
Kid-friendliness: Great family friendly place, glad to have a place I can take my kid in the city. Spacious tables so no minded when my kid yelled or dropped food. Very kid friendly staff too
