We were so excited to try Ralph’s, but very disappointing! The food was just ok, nothing special , have definitely had a lot better. I was expecting a real Italian meal and this definitely was not, the gravy tasted like it was canned , the bread was hard and cold. Won’t go back again.
Go for the nostalgia, not the food.
We recently tried Ralph’s since it’s a staple in the Italian Market and were incredibly underwhelmed. Often these places are more hype than substance and that is truly the case here. We had meatballs, chicken artichoke, and spaghetti w/meatballs. The gravy was thick and acidic, meatballs bland, and the artichoke sauce congealed as it cooled.

This was fine? I honestly struggle to eat out at Italian restaurants. It’s really easy to make better Italian food at home. Really expensive, mediocre Italian food. Pasta was overcooked. Veal was decent. Fun setting. Service was okay. Cocktails were pretty bad. If this hadn’t been so expensive, I think my review would have been more forgiving. There are a dozen cheaper places in south Philly where you can get much better food.

Great place, the 2nd and 3rd floors are so cool. Feels like you’re eating in Italy somewhere. The service is fast and friendly and the food is top level Italian. This is 100s of years of heritage. Foods more than worth it but there’s an experience to it as well.

It was great to eat at the oldest Italian restaurant. The food was great and authentic. It was on my bucket list and it was great that I was able accomplish it. I agree with Matthew Nelson below, the service was strange. I am glad that I had the opportunity, but I probably will not be returning despite the food be great and authentic. Service means a lot to me. It was okay, but not outstanding.

There are reasons why Ralph's has been around for over 100 years. Classic homemade pasta, and an atmosphere that is comfortable and welcoming. Just like Sunday dinner every night.

I love Ralph's been going there and taking friends there for years. The one thing that I don't know if it's a recent thing or something lately with the price increases. I notice an upcharge for a side pasta or vegetable with an entree. I either never paid attention to it or just assumed you would get it as part of your meal. Maybe someone can comment. I will still go there because it's just that good.

Pretty good food. Very nice place and great service. A little bit of a nicer place, can be pricey but the food is good. I would recommend the black lobster raviolis

had high hopes for Ralph’s given its reputation, but overall, it was just okay. I ordered the chicken parmigiana—while the chicken itself was decent, the pasta was underwhelming and lacked flavor. The service was below average and felt a bit inattentive. Not a terrible experience, but I expected better.
