Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard

Usually don't have an issue with this location but the girl who served us today must have been new. I ordered my son's item first, small gelati vanilla ice cream cotton candy water ice she asked if we'd like a lid, my son said yes then gave us a lid entirely too big for the cup. Then I ordered my Mom's, a 5 layer gelati with vanilla ice cream... She walked away mid sentence and proceeded to make it with cotton candy water ice. I said excuse me I did not get to tell you what water ice I want with that. She didn't know how to make it had to keep coming over and looking at a paper which is fine you're new I get that. I also got a pretzel that was handed to me in a folded brown paper bag, to find out later it was only half of a pretzel. Like how do you do that? So that was trash because was it half eaten or just still stuck to another pretzel? I think new employees should maybe be trained a little better for a better customer experience. She was kind just seemed nervous and rushing through the order.

Lazy staff... i wanted a misto 15 mins before close. I guess thats my fault. But they stop selling misto a half hour before close.

I’m giving this place 3 stars because of the great customer service. Otherwise, it would have been a lower. I ordered the Oreo cookie sandwich, but unfortunately, the Oreos had an older, stale taste and the ice cream had more of an eggy flavor than vanilla. The staff were friendly and helpful, which is the only reason this isn’t a lower rating.

Never disappointed!

Those poor girls have to deal with my crazy questions like can I get a trash can for this new Kool-Aid water ice.... $354.96. so I did with any grown-up would do and said okay hold on one second I got to get my card out of my car n left..... Then I set my dog to go get my paul giamatti and he came back in record speed but this is how I found them and I still didn't get ice cream so I just made Kool-Aid ice cubes and put whipped cream on top 📠

Horrible Experience - Smelly Cups and Poor Customer Service.
A visit to this Rita's Water Ice resulted in a disappointing experience. The cups used had a strong, unpleasant odor, similar to wet dog and mold, making the water ice and other items unappetizing.
Upon returning to Rita's to requesting a refund, staff initially denied being able to smell the issue. After insisting that another person smell the cups, the odor was confirmed. * I asked a patron at the establishment to smell it as I offered to have someone else smell it and they said if I can find someone who will.* A partial refund was the only resolution offered, which was inadequate considering the circumstances. (*Note two items did have a little missing.)
The initial denial of the smell and the refusal to offer a full refund for the defective products are unacceptable. This level of poor quality control and customer service is a serious concern. A return to this location is unlikely.
Edit for clarification: We bought 5 items for $38.29 at the locations and brought them home, the two items that had missing product was drank through a straw. It was not until we got home and my husband went to eat the ice cream out of the cup, that the smell was noticed. Upon further inspection it was found that all the lids/cups smelled like this. We immediately had the two stop consuming the products and brought them back to the store.

I’m assuming this blonde girl is the key holder horrible the way she was acting so rude walked up asked if it was okay to order both girls attending customers looked scared of the other blonde she sat outside on the bench so rude u need to have her fired the job is clearly not for her like it’s Italian ice it’s not that hard to close up especially when there’s 3 of you I’d review ur camera footage for 5/8 8:55pm-9:10pm horrible shaking her leg looked like she had to be elsewhere like so young looking that miserable get a new job you know who u are did not speak words to the girl I would have popped off but seriously fire this girl should not be a keyholder girls bashing the counter looked scared

Rita's is officially the acknowledgement of nice weather. Good custard and the official water ice of Philly. Everything is always good. Lots of memories every spring and summer. There's always parking at every Rita's since they are fast. Gotta get a pretzel too to dip with each bite

Wrong closing online

Please for the love of God change your info on Google. It says you are open to 10:00 p.m. but you most definitely are not, and I found that out the hard way. Please save other people the frustration and change it. Thanks.
