Love the high quality produce! However, I wish the cashiers would wipe down the checkout surfaces after customers had spread breadcrumbs all over it. I had set my produce down at checkout and they got covered in breadcrumbs, which will make someone like myself, with celiac disease or gluten allergies extremely ill. Please require your cashiers to wipe down those surfaces!

I don't understand why the cashiers fail to close the receipt before handing it to the customer - instead, they fold it while it is OPEN. SMH

A lovely neighborhood market with a warm, local feel. The staff are very friendly, and it’s a great, convenient option if you don’t want to go to a big supermarket or just feel tired of the usual large grocery stores.

My favorite place to shop

It’s nice to have a local grocer with a great selection. I would probably shop here more often if the staff were a bit more welcoming. Unfortunately, when asking for help or suggestions, the response often feels snotty or dismissive, which makes the experience less enjoyable.

Awkward clerk. Went in to see what was available and ended up grabbing some Mini Blinis. The cashier was very condescending asking questions like “do you know what this is?” Yeah. “It’s supposed to be for caviar? Have you had caviar?” First of all, ring me up and stop with all the racially coated questions. If I am paying for something it doesn’t matter what it is for, why I am getting it or if I have had its accompaniment. If you could read, it clearly states it’s for a plethora of uses but the bigger question is do you act this way towards white customers or just the black ones because the people that checked out before me didn’t get 21 questions so why save them for me. Next time, ring it up in silence and keep your prejudice to yourself.

I love supporting Riverwards. They offer a high quality selection of produce that you just can't find anywhere else. The store itself is easy to navigate, and the staff are wonderful—they are so helpful when I need something I can't find! And, they offer to hold the door open every time I leave with my stroller.
