Happy Hour 5-7 is a great deal for a drink and some bar snacks.
The proceeds go to a local nonprofit servicing the most vulnerable in Philly's community. Retro diner look and a smallish menu of soups, sandwiches, salads and specials.
I always like what I order here, and there's lots of food, usually enough to save for a second meal (e.g., if you order soup and a sandwich). Stay away from "coffee milk" on the menu, though. I know what coffee milk is supposed to be (went to college in Rhode Island) and what this waiter handed us was not it. It was white, like milk with a sweet coffee flavoring. We think this particular waiter just didn't know what coffee milk is supposed to look like and got the proportions wrong.
matzah soup, maple pork belly, cheese grits
Delicious simple food and cocktails done right and for a good cause. The inside is reminiscent of a beautiful diner. The burger is excellent. I love the "everything" sauce! Try the schnitzel sandwich too, you won't be disappointed. It's exactly what you need when you need it.
Happy Hour M-F 5-7pm. Basic burger for $5, $3 beers, $6 wine and cocktails.
Definitely like this place and their mission. All their profits are donated to Broad Street Ministries -- a great organization. However, although the food is very good, it's very expensive. We had no drinks and wracked up a $40 brunch bill. Granted, I don't mind paying it because it goes to a good place, but expect to spend a few bucks. Otherwise it would be 5 stars.
Neat diner atmosphere and my sandwich and beer were really good. Really disappointed by the roasted cauliflower soup though. The actual soup didn't have much flavor (or an odd flavor? I eat a lot of cauliflower and would have preferred plain cauliflower flavor even) and the capers and things on top of the soup were a little strange to suddenly chew into while eating. I love that the profits go to treating people in need with dignity (serving real restaurant quality food with servers), so I would give them another try for sure.
Such a neat little place. You walk down some steps to get in and you get lightening fast service if you sit at the bar. They have such delicious brunch and breakfast food in normal sized portions (not crazy portions like you find other places). You definitely have to try their sausage! They also have amazing baked goods if you need a treat.
Great egg sandwich !

End your meal with dessert: the chocolate chip coffee cake is nostalgic perfection. They make a great egg sandwich.
Brunch, cocktails, drafts. Retro diner vibe.
Always run into the question of wether I want something savory or sweet. The waffles really hit the spot with egg
Meatball sub was delicious.
