Best bar & restaurant in Philly IMHO. Service is second to none. Food is fantastic and the drink menu is dialed in. If you like gin based drinks (and even if you don't), try the chujo roll cocktail.
The staff is just wonderful. The restaurant is always clean and the food is delicious. Its the reason why they have become one of my favorite restaurants.

I was traveling in philly, alone, and had a bad day. These folks made it a good one. Great food, good prices, people that want to make you feel at home. If you can, come here.

Everything about this pub was top notch, from the number of options on the menu for all tastes, to the service, to the food. We’ve all heard the phrase ‘compliments to the chef’ before, but honestly, I don’t think I’ve used it myself until today.
The Glitz burger was absolutely delicious, cooked exactly as requested, and the fries were a crispy seasoned to perfection delight. Truly One of the best burgers I’ve ever had!
And an extra shout out to Head House Books for sending me down the block for this amazing culinary experience!

We love this place. Great community of staff and patrons. It’s a neighborhood staple! The food has no business being this good seriously everything is fantastic. Cocktails are delicious of course. Come for a nice time and stay longer than you meant to! Also great that they’re baby friendly.

Samuel Gritz PH is fine place. The service is friendly and happy to share a chat. The work they've done inside this corner establishment is impressive over the years and is now a proper restaurant and bar with plenty of light with their wraparound windows. The food is good but it is nothing special, this isn't a gastropub with high standards. A pork sandwich was soggy with gravy not special because of it. Crab cake was very good. The drinks are well made and do make this a very good bar. There are other bar/restaurants in the area just as good and a few that rise above this.

Restaurantji Recommends
We tried out Samuel Gritz after being longtime fans of their sister restaurant, Race Street Cafe. Gardner was so friendly and talked us through some of the menu items. The drink menu is very diverse and the appetizers were delicious (we stopped in for drinks and apps only) but can’t wait to try more of the food related items. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Would highly recommend and special shout out to Gardner for your welcoming way! Makes you feel like you’re in a true neighborhood bar.

I cannot figure out why this restaurant isn’t packed all the time. Good food, friendly service, and great drinks. They even have a game closet which was fun for my school age kids. QV should support this place!

Food and drinks were fantastic. Prices were good too. Guests with us said it was the best cocktails they had had in a long time. Food was really fresh. Server was nice, a little quiet and reserved, but attentive.

Gem in Philadelphia, stopped in before a show at the TLA, had the gritz burger, wife had fish sandwich, our friends had the brisket. All were delicious and served hot. Nice selection of drinks, friendly environment and great staff.
