San Lok is hands down, the best tasting Chinese Food in the CITY OF PHILADELPHIA!!!! I met Sue (the owner) in 1978! We were both in the delivery room of Pennsylvania Hospital giving birth to our first child!!! She only has one child; a son who has been working in the business ever since he could reach the stove!!!I went on to have 2 more children!!! We stay in contact and we will always be friends! The food is Delicious!! Kim and her husband are so sweet, curteous and patient...
The food is great but the prices are crazy high. Ain't no way the prices should be this high. I understand the new neighbors might have a few more money than the people that lived here for years, but let's not forget poorer people helped them stay open for all these years. I hate the prices!!Sadly I can't even bring myself to pay the dramatic price hike again shift.
I’m from New York, we have the best Chinese food in the country except for San Francisco. I know good Chinese food. This place is just like a lot of the takeout joints in New York City in Queens Brooklyn everywhere. I highly recommend this place. Some shady characters hanging out in front of the place every so often and of course on that side of Broad Street they only take cash. That’s the only downside.
