My go-to bakery in the area! I may have to travel a little get here, but it's well worth the drive. They have the best Rye Bread and Fastnachts! There's nothing here I wouldn't recommend as everything is delicious. If you're in the far northeast area, I HIGHLY recommend stopping here for your next nights desserts.

I got a premade vanilla birthday cake from here for the first time after getting a recommendation from a coworker. I will say the cake taste sooo much better than it looked. I didn’t realize until I got it home how sloppy the icing and writing was on the cake. It looked very unprofessional. They taped the box up before I could see it and that’s my fault. I should have asked to see the writing before she closed the box. But beyond that the actual cake was nice and soft and good. I paid 29.99 which is like $5 higher than the bakery I normally go to. But since they are a lot closer to me I don’t have any complaints. I would go there again.

Used to love it here but something changed with their donuts and they never have enough cream in them and charge a ridiculous price when we try to order them the old way. Still come for danishes sometimes though.

The lady behind the counter was not nice but the man pulling the customers in and getting you to purchase the cakes was really nice and approachable. A very kind soul. Years ago when they are finish for the day and about ro close...everything left is sold for half price...not now they sell the leftovers the next day. It is no longer run by the Amish either. The recipe is not the same for the cakes either. The cookies were old and stale. We got the banana bread right out the oven., but the chocolate cake was horrible.

We typically purchase BJ’s cakes for birthdays. However my mom wanted Schenk’s this year. Her birthday cake purchased last week was the driest, overcooked, flavorless cakes we’ve ever had. Pretty much inedible. And for the price you pay, it’s insane. They do a good job of decorating exactly as you ask, but the minute you cut into it, it crumbles like sand. The kids wouldn’t even eat it. If you want a 10x better cake at a way better price point, BJ’s is top tier in comparison.

Incredible desserts. Ordered cupcakes for my wife’s birthday and they easily accommodated for her gluten free allergy. Cupcakes were delicious!

Ordered a custom cake for a birthday party and, while the decorations looked great, the real disappointment was hidden underneath.
The cake was overcooked and partially burned. Since it was too late to return it, we were stuck soaking the cake slices in milk to make it more palatable.
If this is the product they think is okay to sell, then I would advise going elsewhere.
Plus, it was $54. They also don't let you know ahead of time that there a 3% surcharge for using a credit card.

Bought a cake for husbands birthday on New Year's Eve. It was expensive and it was stale, hard and nasty. Threw the cake into the trash. Don't buy any kind of birthday cakes or strawberry shortcake the berries are moldy and rotten.

We used Schenks for our wedding cake and they made our dreams come true!!! Not only a beautiful cake but also delicious. Our guests still rave about it!
