The asian guy Ali is a clown! after spending less than 1 minute in this place because we had solely come for food, they charged my friend and I a cover for admission and then told us the kitchen is closed. We spent 30 seconds inside and then asked for the cover back seeing we paid it just seconds prior. awful service. I just hope Ali has the same attitude outside of his job. Wed love to see him again with the same energy.

I was introduced to Smokey Joe's by my high school friend, Richard. He was an undergrad years ago when he suggested this bar. He graduated from the university - he's an engineering major. I've always suggested a cool, chill spot or bar that had a very diverse crowd of us young folk that would accept us as much as their peers from the university. I've been there for a good amount of time and each year I went with him I enjoyed the atmosphere (liquor, ladies and homies).Don't shy away from the experience. You won't regret it.

Oh, Anna, the server extraordinaire! Her unique blend of rudeness and obvious racism truly made my night unforgettable. I have been to Smokey's each time I visit Philly and this time was uncharacteristic. The food was great tho.
