SQ Philip's Steaks

The Italian hoagie wasn't all that good. And the cashier did use gloves but was touching the money and the rolls with the same gloves on that's not good because money has all kind of germs on it.

Bought from here 3 times and all of them were met with dissapointment. I tried really hard to like such an iconic place, but as with iconic places, they die over the ages. Every time the bread was tough and dry. The meat overcooked and way too dry. The cheese is never actually melted on top. I don’t know if the cooks just don’t care about making good food or the owner just gave up. It was so much better 5 years ago.

Not worth the hype.

I had people tell me how good this place was. I was so disappointed. Probably hands down the worst steak sandwich I have had in Philly. The steak was just poor quality and nothing but grizzle. Not one person out of the 7 of us finished our sandwich. I always try to find something good to say in a review so although the food was thrash the service was friendly and quick.

In all honesty I had high hopes since it looked like a very nostalgic kind of place, very disappointing, the steak was the texture of chewing rubber, I ordered a pizza cheesesteak and i recieved a chewy sopping wet roll that also tasted like rubber, watered down marinara sauce and what tasted like ROTTEN onions, do yourself a favor and go to Apollo’s for a real cheesesteak much more bang for you’re buck, on top of the fact that I ate it and now I’m feeling Unusually sick, disgusting.

Phillips steaks give me extreme cottonmouth.

Maybe this place was good in 2012 , now sucks. The bread of the Philips is like eating chew gum, the steak without flavour, the pickles were inedible. I order a cheese steak either cheese, they just put a slice of provolone cheese (those slides found in cheap supermarket that are made of 70% plastic) , and also I asked it with Italian sauce .. awful as well. Going there was a waste of money and time. Do a favor and don’t go there. Go to Dalessandros if you wanna eat a real Philly steak and you don’t waste money. And the customer service is very nice, the Phillis steaks are the double of size and the same price. In sq Philips there was a guy preparing the steaks and in the cashier machine , that’s unsanitary.. and he just asks - what do you want “bro” ? .. very rude to “bro” a client.

Came here a second time because the first time was great. The staff are helpful and serve food quickly. However, on the second visit the sandwiches were not hot, which diminished the quality. Both times we went late in the night. One thing that’s nice is there’s a decent amount of parking.

Tasteless! Late night cravings after celebrating the Eagles going to the Superbowl has me now avoiding red meat all together.

So if anything thanks for kick starting my diet.

I Don't see the point of asking what I want on my steak if all you're gonna do is point me to the condiments section.

A section that's open to the public POST COVID!!

You'd think things would change considering that but apparently not.

I had to take my steak home, reheat, season and add my own germ free condiments.

Never again.

My go-to Cheesesteak place been eating here for a long time best mozzarella sticks and Inside Out Florida styles always get mushroom Cheesesteak provolone fried onions damn it's good
