I usually stop by a few times a year when I visit the neighborhood from out of town, but I think today is my last day here. It seems the quality gets worse, but the price goes up every time. I am honestly surprised they haven't started charging for onions. If a $20 can't get me a decent sandwich anymore, I may as well just go down to Wawa. They take credit cards now, so good for them, I guess.
Steak was very good; slightly chopped. Flavorful taste. 2 separate menus posted. We didn't know about the fries and sodas because the other menu was at a separate service window. Weird! Take out is the most popular option. Eating in means taking a seat at a counter. Difficult to have a private conversation. Self serve pickles and peppers. They were great; as much or as little as you like.
OMG! I feel as if I'm the last to discover one of Northeast Philly's best kept secret. I got a steak, with fries onions, green peppers and mayo on a sesame seed bun. Just absolutely heavenly. There service was prompt and professional and the store is spotless. I will be back.
