The mean lady up front can’t count money… she had me count out my change… she didn’t even know how much to give back. How mean and slow ?

The food taste like it was old, the fish smelled so bad. I couldnt eat it. They put no love in their food.

It's the best kind of local place, hole in the wall, few workers, but food that is given the attention to detail you'd expect from someone offering their homeland specialties. I ordered the Bitterball Torborgee and was warned by the woman behind the counter that it was real spicy, which it was, but it was also delicious. The dish had a deep flavor with notes of fish(which was one of the proteins, alongside what I believe was pork skin and neck bones), they also give a generous portion of rice(which was absolutely crucial to provide relief from a mouth on fire)

I don't know if the ginger juice was also made in house, but it was also great, it tasted as strong as when my wife boils fresh ginger when we get sick but instead of honey fresh juice was added, I chose pineapple and was not disappointed.

I've had red snapper from here before and it was pretty good BUT I just called to ask what kind of fufu they made since I wanted to avoid casava fufu; not only did the lady that picked up ignore me for a moment, she told me she didn't know what the fufu was made out of. Didn't care to ask or be accommodating at all. I can't give money to a business that could care less about it's customers.

Sweetie’s Liberian Restaurant is hands-down one of my favorite spots. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and made with real care. My go-to dish is the Attike with red snapper—perfectly seasoned, cooked just right, and consistently delicious every single time.

But what really sets Sweetie’s apart is the customer service. They treat you like family. One time I was sick and really needed pepper soup to help me feel better, and they literally kept the store open past closing just to make sure I could get the food I needed. That kind of kindness and dedication is rare these days.

Thank you to everyone at Sweetie’s for the amazing food and even better hospitality. I truly appreciate you—support for life!

They need the two young girls to come back to the phone. The lady answering the phone cooking the food at the same time is terrible with the customers

Horrible waste of money. I called on the phone for my order when I got there I stated what I ordered; the person said something different then said give me a couple of minutes I had the wrong thing prepared.

I waited got home and the same wrong item she mentioned is what she got gave me. Horrible a waste of money when I called the only solution was to come back; I already drove there had to drive home. I wasn’t close where I could easily come back.

Same your time and money and go somewhere else.

Save yourself the headache—and your money. The customer service is poor, and the staff often come across as rude and unapproachable. They frequently fail to acknowledge customers when spoken to and present a consistently unpleasant demeanor. The food is ok, though its quality varies depending on the day and who is preparing it.

I asked for jollof rice and they don’t have it again. Lady then walked away from the counter. A male walked up and as he was talking on the phone. Pointed at chalkboard indicating this is what they have. I don’t know how this place is in business.

Food always tastes the same. That’s an art..They had a rough patch for a second but back on point. The restaurant has improved. I’ve been a customer since 2020. Red potato leaves 10/10. Lamb 9/10- Cassava Leaf 10/10-Red Snapper 10/10.

I’ve been coming here for years, and I just have to say the quality of food has gone down TREMENDOUSLY! The food is never fresh anymore, it’s like everything tastes like they bought the ingredients past the expiration date, or that the fish is the old one from the bottom of the deep freezer. If you buy attieke the tomato’s and onions are have been soggy and dry like they cut them one day for the entire week. I have defended this place quality to many others in the diaspora, and always give them the benefit of the doubt like “maybe it’s just the batch of fish they bought” or “maybe it tastes like that because I just drank some ginger” … however after being away from Philly for so long, craving some attieke and not wanting to drive to SW for good quality food I thought I could go to sweeties. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I’m truly so disheartened and disappointed. Do better guys please.ESPECIALLY since you all raised the prices the LEAST you can do is make sure the quality has a standard.
