Thanks to the staff for treating us with care during our dinner last Thursday evening. They were really careful with my son's food allergies and made sure we had a great meal.

As someone whose mother is from the Philippines, I’m very familiar with Filipino cuisine. Overall, we had a good experience. We started with the sampler appetizer—my favorite item was the Caesar salad. The lumpia and chicken were just okay.

For our entrees, I had the sisig, which I thought was very good. My husband had the chicken adobo, and we both found it to be just average.

The restaurant is quite small, and one thing to note is that you have to exit the building and walk around to the back to use the restroom. This place does a great job with marketing—that’s actually how I found out about it. It’s smart that they’re only open five days a week and for just four hours each day. It creates demand and keeps the buzz going.

4/5, This is not worth the hype.

I wonder if people are coping because of the price and artificial feeling of exclusivity due to it only seating like 20 people. My friends and I waited a month for the reservation, thinking that it had to be amazing with this many people wanting to go.

Some flavors were good I cant lie but I wouldnt pay for them again. Tofu and adobo chicken felt over salted. The only thing I would go back for was the fried bananas w ube sundae (I’ll make the honey/butter spaghetti at home).

Portions are small. Know that if you order the $22 smaller portion of the entree it will be an appetizer, my adobo chicken had two pieces of chicken, go with the large.

Service was great. Both waiters were fast and polite. Food came out at good pace. Apparently they do have a bathroom but we assumed they didnt. Its BYOB!

Price came out to $242 for four.

We were excited to try this place,it’s BYOB, and the staff were super friendly. We really appreciated the casual, lively vibe and how much the team seemed to enjoy working there. That said, the space is very small and could be managed a bit better,it felt somewhat uncomfortable being so close to other tables.

Unfortunately, the food was extremely salty for our taste, and the sisig lacked depth of flavor. A more balanced seasoning might improve the overall experience. We also found the portion sizes and prices a bit mismatched, especially considering it’s a very casual setup, prices felt quite high for the type of dining experience offered.

One thing to note: the bathroom is only accessible from outside, through a back alley,so if that’s something you’re not comfortable with, it’s good to plan ahead.

Phenomenal meal! I love the anticipation of trying a new place and discovering so many new favorite dishes. I had a girls date night here with friends and we ordered nearly the entire menu to share. My new favorites are: South Philly Laing, Chance’s Fried Chicken Wings, and Bicol Express. I highly recommend a visit to enjoy the explosion of flavor. Only downside is the dining room is tiny so tables are close together and it can become very loud. I can't wait to go back and enjoy my favorites again!

This is hands down the best meal I’ve had in Philadelphia. Came on a summer Sunday and the place was fully booked. Small restaurant that was a bit hot inside, but the food absolutely made up for that. We couldn’t decide from the menu so ended up going with the chefs tasting menu and was extremely happy with that choice. Ended up getting some amazing items that we never would’ve ordered on our own. It’s my understanding that the chef’s menu rotates, but we received 8 courses for $55 each. The starter sampler seemed innocuous— chicken wings, Caesar salad, and lumpia. But wow, chicken wings were cooked perfectly with a delicious dipping sauce and the Caesar was a super unique take and deeply refreshing on a hot day. The second course was the Filipino spaghetti and South Philly Laing. Both were great but the South Philly Laing was ungodly and my favorite of the entire meal. Entree courses were the clams and beef cheek - neither of which would’ve been my first choice but, again, Tabachoy delivered. Last course was the Pandan cheesecake with an incredible caramel sauce and we added on the ube softserve which was delicious. I forgot to take photos because we were so excited to try everything. Cannot wait to check out the chef’s newest venture.

5 Stars – A Must-Try Filipino Gem in Philly

My fiancé and I had an incredible experience at the best Filipino restaurant in Philly. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy, vibrant atmosphere that immediately made us feel at home.

Every dish we ordered was mouthwatering and packed with flavor. The ube desert had us floating out of our chairs. Tabachoy is a MUST!!

First time in Tabachoy after a long 3-week wait for a 6p Saturday ressy and it didn’t disappoint! Their fancy and modern take on traditional Filipino dishes was fun and refreshing (albeit pricey) which matched the vibe in the restaurant and of the Bella Vista neighborhood! We started with the delish sampler appetizer which included their take on Caesar salad with a hint of shrimp paste in the dressing, lumpia egg rolls, and soy marinated fried chicken wings! For entrees we tried the Humba pork cheeks and the Ginisang Halaan baby clams in a citrussy salsa verde broth. Those were paired with a bowl of jasmine rice and garlic fried rice. As the portions were small, there was plenty of room for dessert - Ube soft serve sundae and an order of Turon fried banana spring rolls! Overall a great experience but beware of the long wait for ressy, restroom is down an alley and back behind their kitchen, and dealing with finding parking in a neighborhood. Chance (owner) has a bright future as he prepares for a 2nd and bigger restaurant (“Manong”) opening soon!

A wonderful twist to Filipino favorites. Tapas style portions. And very clean and clever representation to some favorite Filipino dishes.

Arroz Caldo: citrus was spot on. And the egg in the middle was a great addition. However the mushroom batter is a bit to salty

Spaghetti: Absolutely love! Brings me back to all the Filipino parties that my mom would make. My 5 year old also enjoyed it.

Sisig: Clean and honed in on the traditional flavors. Such a staple with a beer in hand.

Laing: One of the best Laing dishes I've ever had. Never thought to eat it with broccoli rabe. The coconut sauce was perfection.

Staff was amazing. The music was dope. And super accommodating for walk-in reservation.

The staff and food are amazing, and they have excellent vegetarian and gluten-free options. Tabachoy always slaps, but the spring menu right now is especially great. Run, don't walk!

Wow. What a gem. The food was absolutely phenomenal and the staff were accommodating and attentive. We even had the pleasure of meeting the Chef who was incredibly humble and waiting tables himself. Wish I took photos but honestly was too distracted by the flavor of the food. A must.

We had the starter sampler and then different entrees we shared. I had the adobo, but also tried the sisig and humba. All 3 were absolutely delicious. The combination of ingredients was new to me and I was surprised how well everything blended together. The Ceasar salad was also outstanding, with a fresh combination of spice and tardness. Can 100% recommend!
