I do not recommend Tea Leaf to anyone who wants their money's worth of tea. A cup of tea at this place consists of 1/4 of ice. For the price ($8 for a large cup with a single topping), you will be paying quite a bit for the ice packing up 1/4 of your cup. When I asked for the option of less / no ice, the woman managing the cash register said that they don't do that. When I said almost all tea places provide the customer the option of either having no / less ice, she said they don't offer that option regardless of the customer's preference. The other woman who seems to be in charge of preparing the drinks was making faces and being derisive during this exchange, as if their "mandatory ice" policy is God's word of the law of Pennsylvania. Customer etiquette and service are quite poor at this place. There are plenty of other places inside the Reading Terminal Market as well as in the immediate neighbourhood that sell all sorts of teas and drinks that respect customer's preferences in terms of how much ice they prefer in their drinks. It's best to avoid this problematic establishment, and patronize instead other stores that provide more choice to their customers in terms of customizing their drinks. The employees of Tea Leaf seem to think that the customer is breaking the law by asking for no ice! Note that they are providing the customer less tea by filling the cup with a substantial amount of ice. Pick a store that provides tea worth your money instead.

I got the Earl Grey boba milk tea, but it was disappointing because the boba was extremely stiff and undercooked. I finished the tea but threw out the boba. For the price, I would choose another boba shop for better quality.

I went looking for a matcha powder to make tea with and am very happy with what I purchased. They sold me a small amount and even let me check the color to make sure it was right. It tastes really good and wasn’t as expensive as the stuff I was looking at online.
The milk matcha tea was just milk and brown sugar. When we ask the person at the checkout if she can do it again, she says in a condescending tone “that’s how we do it.”
had the orange green tea and it was so good, best orange green tea i’ve ever had. im still thinking about it. highly recommend.
It wasn't what I expected based on the photos. It's no longer primarily a loose leaf shop, it's now a boba shop. They still sell loose leaf, but it didn't appeal to me anymore. Forgot to take photos unfortunately.
Discussing boba said it was fresh was girder than a rock do not suggest
The original Tea Leaf has been sold and it is under new management. I'm not quite sure what the new store's specialty is now.
Very nice staff. The matcha milk tea and jasmine are great

Amazing fresh boba and incredibly nice staff :)
Recommend their passion fruit tea
I had a great time going here for the first time. It is quite small but has a relaxed, intimate vibe with a wonderful selection of teas and friendly, knowledgeable staff.
Lynn runs an exemplary business offering wonderful teas from all over the world. She also offers a daily variety of iced tea to refresh your journey throughout the market. Take a moment to pause while savoring every sip. Life is too precious and too short to rush without enjoying the simple pleasures like a great cup of tea.
