Amazing breakfast sandwich but, more importantly, it’s nestled in the woods at the entrance of Forbidden Dr. Squirrels, chipmunks, and birds are gathered around thrown peanuts and feeders around the cafe. There are indoor and outdoor seats, some on a hill hidden behind the cafe. It is a near perfect aesthetic. Also, they serve la colombe coffee and ice cream.
I have come here a few times either after or between some walks along the Wissahickon. I appreciate the fact that there's a cute cafe at one end of the park. The food has always been good and the service is fantastic! The coffee is okay, I would stick with iced coffees and plain espresso because they tend to make the milk too hot. Absolutely one of my favorite places for breakfast. Egg and cheese croissant had the perfect mix of cheesiness and egg, the croissant was also very well textured. Great location in the forest, only issue is that it's pretty difficult to get to for anything other than bike, making it more one of those places you go to if hiking, not if you're just getting breakfast or lunch.
