If you want a true Philadelphia dive bar experience, then this is the spot. Dark and gloomy, cheap beers, top floor has a pool table and smoking allowed. Just after I moved to Philly, I almost immediately got into a bar fight here - great spot !!
As advertised, it’s a dive. But a lovable one. Interesting crowd, but not sketchy, cheap drinks, and dog-friendly. If you’re looking for a high-society wine bar, this ain’t it... but then why the hell did you walk into a place called “The Dive Bar”? One of my favorite things is the food menu. Smuckers Uncrustables and Chef Boyardee? Amazing.
After working on a project at my buddy's house, we were looking to get a drink at some place local. Before we knew it, it was 8 pm and Friday evening so we're just catching the madness at the beginning. Where could we go that wouldn't be crowded? My friend knew a place a few blocks away. Very small but intimate. Good quality beer on tap. Active jukebox. Friendly bartender. We even had fun chatting with other patrons. I can't vouch for how crazy it might get...
