Drinks tastes like the ones I get on vacation, unique. I came here off a recommendation from the bartender at Death and Co in NYC. This might be where I take a date at on the calm. Didn’t hear too much lounge/bar tunes, could use some new tunes but I think the bartender was controlling it via

Terrible service. Walked in with the tiniest cup of ice cream I got from a gelato spot across the street and they wouldn’t seat me and made an obnoxiously large deal about it. As a business owner I would never conduct business like this. Not to mention….i actually looked up if they serve dessert before I headed over and found out that they do not in fact serve dessert. Major disappointment.
We felt lucky to stumble upon this speakeasy vibes bar under the hotel. The cocktails were HIGHLY creative and the staff was the best. Recommend the Funky “adult YooHoo” rum cocktail served in a milk carton glass. Also really enjoyed the Make Me an Angel and the Salary Man. Would return again if we weren’t from Chicago.

We made a reservation for a front table, they gave us a much worse table. They didn't give us any compensation for this, they took too long to take our order. Very disappointed, we were waiting for a long time to come here. I would definitely avoid it.
Everything except for Archer, he was great, best waiter.

Great cocktails. Limited food options, but, hey, you can't have everything.
Parking: Leave the gas guzzler out in the 'burbs. If you can't do that you don't deserve the city.

I haven't been here in several months so I'm sad to see some recent negative reviews. I wonder what happened. :( This place is/was one of my favorite bars in Philly. I love the Free Healthcare (the drink, but the concept sounds pretty good too :P). I can't remember the names but one drink was a coffee-ish milk punch (the Leather Couch? Italian Couch? Something like that) was super intriguing. I think I also remember a fruity/berry drink that was really good. I want to say that the name was royal, like Queen Raspberry or something. The free starter mini drink is always fun. They only have very light food, not enough if you haven't had dinner yet, but I really liked the whitefish spread. The interior is dark, luxurious, and beautiful. It used to have a hidden alley entrance but now you enter through the lobby of the hotel, which kind of ruins the speakeasy atmosphere. Especially because when I went there I think the door was wide open in the lobby, so it wasn't secret at all. Maybe they should rebrand to a regular bar? The atmosphere didn't change the quality of the drinks, though, so I think that's all that really matters.
Kid-friendliness: Not kid-friendly. It's a bar, lmao. Like, maybe kids could eat snacks and drink juice? But it would be weird.

Disappointing experience; the service was slow, extremely mediocre cocktails, and when the other person in my group requested house white wine, they charged us $60 for the single glass they brought her. Really would not recommend. Didn't try the food but won't be going back and suggest others avoid as well.

This was the weirdest bar I have ever been to. They literally handed me a cup of ice.
They need management. If I owned this place I would be embarrassed by the clowns who are working there. After we were seated, no one handed us a menu for about 10 minutes. We had to wait a long time to order while we watched 3 bartenders/waiters just talking to each other behind the bar. Then we finally ordered and watched our drinks sit on the bar for at least 5 minutes. Then the guy handed us our drinks mine was filled with ice and had a straw. I realized the drink had nothing in it. I spent 5 minutes trying to wave down the bartender while another one was playing with a blue turtle toy the made a squeaking noise and just kept making noise. Then finally I was able to tell him, without talking to us, he just took away the drink as if happens daily. When he told the bartender she goes “omg I totally forgot to put the drink in.” Truly, unsure how that happens? Then they gave me a new drink. Then the waiter is standing at the bar and talking to some lady at the bar who starts throwing one dollar bills at him. It happened three times. We were there for one hour and it was the trashiest, fake fancy cocktail bar ever. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME and MONEY.

The other reviews are spot on...this place was pretty bad. Better spots nearby including Friday, Saturday Sunday, Ranstead Room and A. Kitchen.

Franklin Mortgage and Investment Co. is a speakeasy-style bar in Philadelphia, known for expertly crafted cocktails and a cozy, Prohibition-era vibe. With a creative drink menu and skilled bartenders, it’s a go-to spot for cocktail lovers seeking a refined, intimate experience.

A very nice space with an intriguing bar and cocktail list. I can’t quite quell the thought that the space could be easily and extremely enhanced by someone performing up-close illusions, table-side, while you enjoy your libations. Maybe they could even have a time of day where a feat of endurance from a reputable street magician can be revealed. Just a thought!

Fun place to go with 5-10 people. Good upscale vibe; not really hidden but a fun scene. It would be cool if they had something complementary to the at.osphere like cardistry or slight of hand.

As soon as I walked into this bar, the bartender (Xi?) asked if I could sit at either end of the bar since I was solo. It was a rude start considering the bar was empty and remained empty primarily until I left.
I had an old fashioned at $24.
I came here upon a recommendation from a Bartender at Andra Hem, but I will not repeat it. None of the cocktails or specialty cocktails stood out to me, especially.
The service felt very cold and disengaged. It felt perfunctory.
The music playlist during my short half-hour visit was mostly 90s rap.
