This place is home. Thier staff is intuitive, respectful, knowledgeable and engaging. I've been coming here for 2 years now and will continue to pick this place first. Thank you Happy Rooster. May you stay open for another 50 years.

If you’re a POC, specifically Black, I wouldn’t suggest this place. The owner is not friendly and has a terrible attitude. I’m truly surprised she feels empowered to treat customers the way she does.

I wrote a long review but decided to delete it because this business isn’t worth that much energy. Just know the owner is racist so if you’re a person of color you will get a nasty reaction from her. There are a million better bars to spend your money at in the area whose owners won’t harass you your entire visit and make you feel unwelcome before you even step into the establishment.

If you like dive bars with great food, this is your place! Seats had the perfect amount of tape on them to keep them together. Very dark inside. Don't sit at a table if taller than 5'9" or your legs may not fit. The food was great. Lamb burger was seasoned perfectly. Fries had a crispy coating on them. Spicy fried chicken sandwich and the tuna melt were also ordered at the table; both got the thumbs up. Prices are reasonable for center city. I will definitely go again. Go off hours due to limited tables.

Small but quaint place with lots of character. The mac and cheese, chicken pot pie and chicken soup were OUTSTANDING!!! The best we've ever had!!

Stopped in for lunch during the week. Quiet, with some regulars at the bar. Service is excellent. Attentive server who actually thinks ahead. Be careful - - soda refills are not free and cost $3.50 each. Food was okay, but nothing great. Good bar food is how I would describe it. Very nice patrons, creating a nice environment. Worth the stop and spending some time here.

Got stuck in Philly late and was looking for dinner near the hotel. Sat down at bar at 9:50 and was ignored while the staff did mostly nothing. When the bartender finally talked to me 14 minutes later, he looked at the time and told me the kitchen closed 4 minutes ago. Avoid this place.

Staff is rude. While at the establishment staff was observed taking photos of our party. Therefore, I snap a photo of the photographer who didn't like the same being done to her. The security just did what was told rather than what was right. The establishment created and wanted to escalate a situation which wasn't even necessary.
