Inconsistent in minimum amount required to use a credit card - gave me no problem once, another time insisted on cash or a minimum $10. purchase. They follow the VISA rules but considering that many items are overpriced to begin with (and there are few price tags to be found to begin with), I find this pretty off-putting and less than convenient for a convenience store. I'll take my business elsewhere when possible.
Great deli. Love the owners, have everything you need to have a great lunch or dinner. Sandwiches are so fairly priced I almost want to tell the owners that they could charge more! I always get the Italian hoagie. Highly recommend.

I have stopped at the Market at the Hopkinson House many times. The food is just ok, but the market is conveniently located. This last stop, however, will be my last. The woman making the sandwiches accused me of stealing power bars. When I showed her my pocketbook, she just turned her back. I called when I arrived at my next destination and she continued with her accusation. I'm sorry I made a mistake would have been the appropriate response. Instead, she upped the number of bars she accused me of stealing, said she could not hear me on her cell phone, and she hung up. Whatever happened to respect! I felt I had to respond so others are not shown such disrespect!
Very accommodating, hard-working people here. The store is a lifesaver for those of us who live or work at Hopkinson House or nearby and find it difficult to shop elsewhere. A very good selection of foods in a small space.Wonderful for emergencies like if you're missing one ingredient for a dish or have a sudden desire for---you name it: pickles, rum raisin ice cream, a hogie.
Great family owned c store. The Kim family has been here for years.
What a great convenience for the Washington Square neighborhood. Very nice people run this deli/market. They make great sandwiches and have a very big grocery selection for the space they are in. Magazines and greeting cards too!
It's so easy to be critical of small food businesses, especially when their prices are above those in, say, a supermarket. But I, for one, am immensely grateful to the devoted people who runs the Hopkinson House Market, especially now in the time of coronavirus. They work very hard, are very accommodating, and risk their own health to be here for us. And in such limited space, they provide a surprisingly full array of foods.
Perfect store! Great deli, nice selection of fresh sandwiches. Grocery items - pretty sure they have at least one of everything. Very nice and helpful owners. Super convenient, located right on Washington Square.
Went in to buy a pack of water bottles - when I got the crate to the counter they said they don't sell it because they're too expensive. Not sure how I feel about this place, but considering it's in the same building where I now stay, it'll probably save me in the times to come. A brief scan made it seem like a typical grocer/deli - today was right after a trip to Whole Foods, so maybe it looked more drab than it should have. Updated review coming up soon, I'm sure.

Best hoagies i ever tasted , very fresh and the breading on their rolls are perfect . soft and not too thick.
there isn't a vast selection of grocery needs, but for a tiny store it's going to be able to approximate some usefulness considering how poorly the Superfresh nearby has been reviewed. The staff was very pleasant and more than happy to accommodate. Prices are reasonable.
