The Original Turkey

While turkey sandwiches aren’t typically something I go out of my way to get, I was intrigued by the sole focus of this establishment. The Original Turkey lives up to its name. I enjoyed my cheese original sandwich, where the sourdough, cheddar, lettuce, and tomato were all fresh, and there was a generous portion of high-quality turkey and mayo—the latter being essential for a good traditional turkey sandwich. The customer service was friendly as well. I’d recommend this place if you’re craving something simple but well-made.

1st time trying this place and definitely my last. Food was horrible and overly salty. I wasted $31.00 on 2 turkey platter. After a couple of bites of food my stomach starting hurting and then I threw up the food. What a disappointment 😞

The staff was pleasant and polite. Portion size large and very tasty. The turkey breast was a little too salty. The price was reasonable.

Staff were very friendly and quick. I was ordered and picked up my sandwich while my spouse was still in their line. The dinner sandwich is amazing, everything was wonderful but the turkey was delicious. I may have to stop by again before I leave. Also reasonable priced for the serving I received.

The Original Turkey at Reading Terminal Market offers a quick and affordable experience! I tried the Turkey Dinner Lunch Box, complete with mashed potatoes and stuffing, and it was delicious—perfectly seasoned and satisfying. My boyfriend had the mac and cheese with stuffing, and he loved it too; both dishes really capture that classic Pennsylvania Dutch flavor. Just a heads up, the seating can be a bit of a struggle during busy times, but the tasty food definitely makes it worth it!

The turkey was delicious. I eat gluten free and they don’t have GF bread but he sold me 1/3 pound of turkey w lettuce, tomato and onion in a container. The server was kind and helpful and the price with tip was less than $9. It was delicious .

Best Thanksgiving Meal I have ever had in September. Perfectly cooked. Craving more from Mke, WI. Might have to order from GoldBelly. Thank you for a great couple of dinners.

The sandwich itself (turkey cheese) was not exceptionally bad but I had food poisoning from it (vomitting, diarrhea; symptoms appeared 30 mins after ingestion, bought the sandwich on Friday Sept 6th 2024, 11 a.m.). For this reason I cannot recommend.

I go here once a week for about 2 years now. All the staff is beyond nice, always ask me about my dogs and sometimes give them s treat. Food is great and price is right

Man this place was one of the best spots i visited in reading terminal market. I got the Turkey with Swiss && bacon ranch. It was so good . The turkey was sliced fresh while you standing there. It was hands down one of the best turkey wraps I’ve ever had. My sister got the turkey cheese sandwich and she loved it. Definitely worth trying.

I was visiting from out of state. I'm amazed by Reading Terminal!!! One of my co-workers described a BLT from this stand, and i just had to visit. When I saw the size of the sandwich, I knew I couldn't get it in my mouth. But, I ordered something else. Everything look wonderful. My sandwich tasted so fresh (and I ate the rest the next day!!).

Don't miss these guys on your visit! The line moves fast!
