If you haven’t tried Kismet yet - run, don’t walk. I truly could not have better things to say about their food and service. As someone who grew up around a small business & working in hospitality, they really have done an amazing job bringing this brand to life. Not to mention the bagels are by far the best you will find outside of NY.
The egg sandwich on a jalapeño cheddar bagel is *chefs kiss* and their everything bagel converted me into liking everything bagels.
I absolutely loved the food here and looked forward to it every time I came to Philadelphia. However, I am sad to report that they are no longer here. It looks like they’ve gone out of business.
Kismet Bialys was a charming spot at Reading Terminal Market, attracting customers with its cute logo and pink storefront. The bialy selection was unique, featuring flavors like Buffalo Chicken, Pastrami, and other classic options. The Caramelized Onion Bialy, topped with poppy seeds and filled with caramelized onion and sea salt, was a standout. The staff was friendly and provided great service, and the warm, toasted bialys were a delight. Customers appreciated the quick, high-quality bialys, with one enjoying the Pastrami Bialy crusted in potato chips served with pickles, calling it phenomenal. Despite the positive reviews, it is noted that the restaurant is no longer in operation.
