Of the several times I've been to this place, last night's was the only bad experience. It's not their fault, really, that our reserved table wasn't ready when we arrived. Once we were seated service was quite slow, and we waited a half hour for our first food items to come out. The wild mushroom soup was good. Our friend had a shrimp appetizer she liked very much. I had the appetizer of eggplant rollatini for my main dish and it was surprisingly bland....
This is a beautiful, quiet, elegant little restaurant right next to the historic Sedgwick Theatre home of Quintessa so it makes for a very special pre-performance meal. a menu is creative and extensive. Service is outstanding and very professional. Is in intimate and elegant.
Everything spot on. Tonight we had two different kinds of fish served with pasta. While the fish was outstanding - perfectly prepared - the pasta was not an afterthought, with just the right texture and flavor. An exceptional meal!
