Had the pulled pork sandwich and queso Mac, both were incredible! The pork was tender, had great flavor and the sauce was awesome, not overly sweet. The mac had a little spice which I loved and both of the guys working were friendly. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great bbq in

Enjoyed some really exceptional takeaway from here this evening. Best bbq I’ve had in a really long time. It’s obvious the owners are hands on, take pride in what they’re doing and want to offer great value to their customers. This is a small business that feels good to support.Bonus points for putting Charles Grodin on a shirt-my only point of contention is that I would’ve labeled this merch as “Clifford” rather than their choice “midnight run”.

I've been to Zigzag now a few times, and have had a great experience every time. Definitely would recommend ordering their brisket and ribs, as they were the best of the meats we had ordered. The mac and cheese is a must as well; slightly spicy, very creamy, and topped with Cheeto dust (don't knock it until you try it). The corn pudding was also excellent.I think more importantly though, Zigzag is consistent with their BBQ, something that can't be said for some other BBQ restaurants in the area, and definitely something my friends and I appreciated.

So far in Philly this is number brisket I've had so far. Brisket is like butter so soft. Still waiting to try beef ribs that's only available Saturday and the Mac n cheese with cheetos are amazing.

Solid BBQ joint. Brisket and Pulled pork were juicy, tender, and flavorful. The coleslaw flavor isn't for everyone but I really liked it. I love a good BBQ sauce and the sauce here is really good and goes well with the meat. I really disliked the cornbread and tried it twice to make sure the 1st time wasn't a fluke. It's super dry and lacks flavor. Still doesn't impact by 5 star review though. The guys behind the counter are SUPER chill and to me that kinda contributes to the experience. It just puts you at ease and in the mood for good BBQ and Vibes. Definitely a fan of this place.

Really brisket and corn pudding. Corn bread could have been a little better but would go back.

I like my food well done, I don’t like half or almost done food.. however the service was outstanding very nice people that work there..Dietary restrictions: Zig Zag offers more of pork selections on their menu then beef, chicken and turkey.

We ordered the beef brisket and the pulled pork sandwiches which my boyfriend claimed was the best pulled pork he has ever had bar none. Both sandwiches were huge, the meats were perfectly smoked and flavorful and the potato salad is a MUST!

I’ve been to every 5 star restaurant in Philadelphia and this is certifiably the best. The FOOD, the people, the environment… everything is done with such deliberate thought and attention. My personal favorite sandwich is the CHOPPED AND SMOKED… make sure to get it with the Queso Mac (with takis of course).Even if I’m not hungry, I have to stop by if I’m ever even remotely close by.

Disappointing for this to be some of the best rated bbq in Philly on Google.Got chopped brisket sandwich, 1/4 lb of brisket (1 slab), side kale salad, cornbread.Food:-Brisket sandwich tasted like burnt, overdone end pieces and the sauce didn’t cover it well. The sauce itself wasn’t very complex or smoky and a bit too sweet in my opinion.-The slab of brisket was somehow gristly and dry at the same time and largely flavorless; not enough salt & time to penetrate & flavor the meat. No smoke ring to be seen and all the rub was concentrated on the gristly outside.-Salad was just kale, the most crushed up walnuts I’ve ever seen, similarly-prepared goat cheese, and oil. I didn’t want the dairy-based dressing the salad came with and they didn’t have an alternative.-The cornbread might be the biggest offender. Cornbread should be yellow or yellow-ish, moist enough to clump in your hands and it should smell like… corn. This was dry, largely flavorless, and blue-brown (maybe the kind of corn used; no hate on that from me). They were out of the accompanying miso maple sumac butter so I raw dogged it. Maybe the butter makes up for the cornbread, but without it was meh and did nothing to improve an already underwhelming meal.Interaction:-I didn’t actually plan to order the 1/4 lb of brisket lol. It happened by accident bc the person taking my order didn’t wait to confirm what I wanted and didn’t really listen when I was trying to explain my order.-After I tasted the cornbread in my car I went back inside and asked for my money back for it ($8 for two pieces and I didn’t get any butter?? Nah.) To Zig Zag’s credit the person at the counter didn’t hesitate or argue with me and handed me cash on the spot. (Maybe they were trying to stop me from criticizing the cornbread in front of the people ordering lol idk.)Vibes:-It’s Fishtown so you get what you get I guess ??-The decoration is sparse and cute; I really appreciated the sprinkle of childhood artifacts and whimsy.-Remarkable amount of African music playing in a place remarkably lacking in…. nvm.Overall:If you’re looking to drink marked up wine & beer and eat some okay BBQ at a chill spot with your friends: this works. If you’re trying to satisfy a deep need for flavorful, lovingly prepared smoked meat not met since leaving the southern US: keep looking (and lmk if you find anything pls).

We found this place as they rate highly for being safe with the celiac intolerant community, and they took care of my relative who is. I'm not, but my pulled pork sandwich was huge and delicious! Side of queso mac was fantastic as well. Small seating area with benches, and plenty of craft beer and wine available to purchase. Get there early - items sell out!

Amazing BBQ. Probably best in Philadelphia. Brisket and ribs are excellent. All the sides I've had also great. The place has some great canned beer selection too. Staff always been friendly. Seating not great, just benches and tables. I usually get to go, they pack it well.

I have been living in the neighborhood for a few years now. If I'm ever looking for comfort food, this place always lifts my mood. The atmosphere, staff, and quality of food are all amazing. Down to the salad, I like everything on the menu. The menu is simple and satisfying. My personal favorite is the brisket sammich slappy meal; I usually change up my side but I prefer the Mac n cheese.
