Hidden Fees!!! $15 per person extra just to sit and have a drink!!!

We went late last night after going to the Holiday Pops. Walking inside, the atmosphere was beautiful and intimate. The host asked if we had reservations and we said we did not. We were just looking for drinks and appetizers. He brought us to our table and we asked about live music and he said they are on break but will be out shortly. Between the four of us, we ordered 3 alcoholic drinks, 1 non alcoholic drink, and 2 appetizers. After about an hour, we asked for the bill and were shocked at the price. It was $150. They had put a $60 live music charge on it. Not our host nor our waiter had mentioned this large charge that essentially doubled our bill. They pointed out small print at the bottom of the menu that said live music had a charge. For me, I wouldn’t mind paying maybe $5 a person or $15 a table something “normal.” But $60 to sit for an hour in a snowed in bar in Pittsburgh is absolutely outrageous. We talked to a manager and were able to get it sorted out but I am shocked that no one felt the need to mention it to us. It was a surprise on the bill. It honestly felt almost scammy after they have you pay $15pp and then the band manager gets on stage begging for tips.

Pre-COVID this was absolutely one of my favorite Pittsburgh restaurants. Loved the food, ambience and the music. Last weekend we were super excited to finally come back to our favorite spot now that things were opening up. We could not have been more disappointed by the experience. I'm not one to write a bad restaurant review based on one visit but the food was so egregiously bad that I have to. I ordered the Lechon Asado and it was completely bland, flavorless and the rice & beans were like something that would have come from a pre-made packet you get at the super market. The two other people in my party ordered the Farro bowl and both could barely eat it because they said it was so over spiced and covered in salt.

I'm not sure if there is a new chef or if the second location is causing them to spread themselves too thin but this is not the Con Alma of 2019-2020. Hopefully these are temporary growing pains but I don't plan on coming back here any time soon.

Been to Con Alma once or twice in the past, but recently stopped in for date night and had a great experience. The jazz was on point, the cocktails were delicious, and Emma was absolutely amazing! We’ll definitely be back!!!

A fun and fantastic place to dine and enjoy some live music in Pittsburgh. They were very celiac aware and had gluten free options. Our party of four will definitely come back here for good food and entertainment. Thank you Con Alma for a memorable evening.

Eva at the bar was delightful. We planned on having 1 drink and sitting at the bar, however that turned into an appetizer, which was out of this world (the croqutas de jamon)and then we stayed for dinner(jerk chicken)and the Jazz show. This was our first time at Con Alma and Eva made us feel like family. It was a busy night but she walked us through the menu and suggested perfect drink pairings. I’m embarrassed that it took us this long to stop here. A PERFECT night out!

Excellent experience at con alma! We went before a show and they were very accommodating with our timeline to get to the show on time. Everyone working here is kind and helpful. Our waitress Ilijana was 10/10. The drinks and food were great- we especially liked the chef special kimchi fried rice. Would recommend to anyone!

Endlessly disappointing. Good music and atmosphere but obnoxiously arrogant owners and poor food.
