I loved Daphne Cafe. They haven't been open in a while. Unfortunately I walked past yesterday and the interior is almost empty--clearly they are cleaning it out after closing. This is so sad--it was a lovely family-owned business with delicious food and an amazing staff. Another covid casualty, apparently.

This is a wonderful family-run establishment that serves up incredibly fresh, delicious food. For a treat after your meal, enjoy a cup of Turkish coffee and a piece of rich, flaky baklava.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh and literally the best Turkish food I have ever eaten. Their hummus, baba ghanoush, and grape leaves are to die for (you can order all 3 in the triple appetizer for a more-than-reasonable price). I recommend the döner/gyro or salmon platters. Both have crazy large serving sizes and the food is so fresh, beautifully cooked, and seasoned. The hot tea is also fantastic and is served in the cutest glass cup. This is also a family owned and operated restaurant which is an even bigger plus. They recently redecorated and the inside is very cute.

I was looking for food to go in mid-afternoon and discovered Daphne Cafe. There are so few places open at 3 pm, I was very grateful and the staff was lovely. Food was delicious too. Highly recommend!

Ok parking in Shadyside SUCKS. That being said this restaurant is worth walking the 3 blocks to the side door. Yes, the entrance is by the side patio. We each ordered 2 appetizers and an entree. Grape leaves, hummus, krizer, cucumber gyro sauce, and a tomato/beet based sauce were all very big portions. The krizer is similar to tabouleh but has a heartier grain than couscous. The pita was fresh and plentiful. The stuffed grape leaves were served chilled. The leaves were very tender. They were good but I prefer a meat version served warm. I ordered the agean salad (lettuce, artichokes, mushrooms, roasted red peppers, feta, & walnuts) and added gyro meat on top. We should have split my salad between 2 people. I couldn't finish 1/2 of it - huge portion. The light vinegarette complimented the vegetables. The (golf ball size) falafel salad was over lettuce. Again huge portion. We ordered 2 desserts: baklava & trisket with honey. Neither dessert was served as we expected. The baklava had distinct layers .... very good ... but not the traditional brown and nutty. The trisket was rice cake size and smothered in warm honey. Expected the giant frosted mini wheat covered in honey. Additional order of grape leaves to go. Left with a lot of leftovers. We made reservations. Limited seating. Great staff. Did I mention parking is awful? Uber Eats will deliver .... or we will just drive around the block for takeout.

Daphne's has authentic Turkish food and their ambience is lovely. The menu is a bit limited and pricey but I like their platters. The cacik sauce is delicious and pairs very well with the meats since they are a bit dry. I liked their eggplant dish even though it was served cold. Pitas are always fluffy and fresh. Overall, I enjoy Daphne's food more than any of the other middle eastern restaurants in the area.

This spot is my favorite. I visit plenty of restaurants but to this one I go the most. The crew is very amicable and the food they offer is so flavorful. I never miss an opportunity to have a good meal in this place. Highly recommended.

Food is really good here. Was surprised when our server offered to refill our iced tea and didn't tell us there was a charge for refills. Didn't see that listed on their menu either.
