I come from a Mexican family in California, so when I moved to Pittsburgh, I was deeply disappointed at the lack of good, authentic Mexican food. When I found this place, I rejoiced! The food is amazing: made with the authentic basics in mind, yet refined with originality. It really feels like home in all the best ways.

Chilaquiles!!! They have them and just like everything else, it is flavorful, unique, hits the spot!!! it’s a red Chilaquile sauce with a unique green chorizo. For dessert we had the flan which was smooth and creamy. Perfect balance of sweet. For fun we had the al pastor tacos. Cause if you can fit them, you should!! Yum!

I was walking by and couldn't resist having a taco from one of my favorite apps. (Turns out Duolingo doesn't own the Taqueria anymore, but they share a building and are still friendly.) Had the mushroom tacos and a Jarrito soda -- delicious! And the staff was very nice to accommodate the randomness of our afternoon snacking. Bonus: Spanish vocabulary words are posted around the space so you can practice your language skills!Vegetarian options: The fried mushroom tacos are delicious (and I'm not a vegetarian)

I didn’t know what I was expecting for a restaurant by Duolingo, but it’s actually REALLY GOOD!! Vibes are great, the place is beautiful, and (more importantly) the food is VERY tasty. I can’t speak to the authenticity, but everything we got was delicious. The drinks are quite nice as well. One of my favourite things on the menu is the flan. I’m usually not a flan person, but I would drive back to Pittsburgh for this flan :D

We had an amazing night at Duo’s! Authentic and delicious Mexican food, wonderful service both at the bar and also from Meghan our lovely waitress, who patiently listened to us practicing español while ordering and gave us great recommendations for food and dessert. We will definitely come here again. Muchas gracias! ❤️

The food, drinks, and service were great. Unfortunately it seems like Duo’s is trying to scam people during happy hour and charge full price for happy hour items. We ordered 3 drinks, each listed at $5. The bill came and they were all billed as $10. The waiter changed 2 drinks back to $5, but claimed we received a “full size Paloma” instead of the happy hour size and we still owed $10.How can I order a $5 drink on the happy hour menu… during happy hour… and you bring me a “full size” and decide to charge me more??The chips and salsa were delicious but came with about 8 large chips, not remotely enough for the salsa serving sizes. If you’re asked if you want more chips, you will be charged for them. All around a bit disappointing after wanting to try this place for a while.

We got two tacos each and water to drink. $38. That's ridiculous. Not worth it. And the menu has nothing on it except these 15 a plate 2 tacos. Rip off. Want guac? $15. Salsa and chips? $15. Never again. Rip off.
