Small portions, large prices, I got an antipasto ( two pieces of meat, two pieces of cheese, the rest was peppers and some olives.) My wife had soup ( she said it was terrible,) We both had a portion of pasta. ( was just OKAY) Price was unreasonable! First and last time !! We live five minutes away.

Fantastic pizza and tiramisu! Michelle was a great hostess. Her mom cooked and her dad helped carry out the pizza to my car. Will definitely return .

Our visit was great! All of the dishes were delicious. Fetttucine bolognese - noodles so tender and light and sauce was very tasty. The veal cannelloni was just as good. Great find, we'll be back! Thank you for a nice dinner.

5 stars for sure. We saw they only were open a limited amount of days so we called and got a reservation. From start to finish it was amazing. The food was awesome the service was impressive! It was my sister 4 year old son and I. We all ordered different foods and loved it all. You get salads with tour meal and bread. We got desserts as well and it was great. The next time we go we will order appetizers to see how they are. Great find def should go!!!

I mean... Wow. Ok, long story short, I booked tickets unwittingly for a beer fest Valentine's day weekend (oops). So Friday night (V-day) we've just arrived after a 4 hour drive to Pittsburgh, we're hungry and curious. We are graciously seated without a reservation, and from there our experience was wonderful. The only gripe I had was it was a looooong dinner. But the food and service was PHENOMENAL. This place is family owned, I believe, and the atmosphere is very friendly and inviting. Couldn't recommend more. It is expensive, but it's absolutely worth it.

Great experience, very friendly staff!! We loved the artichokes alla romana ( chef Fabio’s specialty ) escargot was amazing, not chewy. Great salad lemoncella, with fresh parmigiamo topping it . Pollo piccata and baked ricotta gnocchi amazing as well !! The mascarpone cheese cake and the raspberry crostata (made by Chef Michael ) so good it’s one step closer to heaven !! And finish with espresso or cappuccino and amaro of course!!! We will be back !!

Gran Canal Caffe offers standard Italian fare served in large portions by friendly, attentive staff in a comfortable if uneventful setting. Pricing is reasonable, especially considering the portions.

Looking for a new Italian place to try out and this place was great. Warm atmosphere with even warmer staff. Everyone entering the restaurant was greeted with hug and it showed how the staff connects with there patrons. The food was wonderful. We had the creamy tomato soup special and french onion soup to start. Both were excellent! We had the Italian platter with different meats and warm bread and oil was brought out. The pacing was great to really enjoy each course. I had scallop with pasta and they were amazing (re-heated the next day just as good). Would highly recommend and will be back soon! Walking distance to Dancing Gnome too!

Great Italian restaurant. Family owned, very knowledgable and attentive staff, great atmosphere, and the tops food. We did a big family meal, so i got to try a lot of different dishes. Who knew a great gem like this was hidden in Sharpsburg? I think they are closed for a couple months in the Winter?

We go a few times a year. We always love it. We went again this evening and all agreed we need to start coming once a month. It's lovely. The food is good old, traditional Italian. We brought an 89 year old friend with us who hadn't been there in many years. They all remembered her and immediately greeted/hugged/welcomed her. The food was delicious. We had a big group and were able to share some delicious appetizers. They were a bit crowded but we loved watching how they all worked together with smiles on their faces to continue to provide great service. It was a wonderful, relaxing evening filled with delicious food. We highly recommend it.

Quite easily one of the best meals I've ever eaten. Wait staff was excellent and attentive; the atmosphere itself was elegantly cozy. The food was phenomenal and beyond satisfying. Coming back again for sure!
