Was there with a group of 12 Friday evening October 10. Waited 1-1/2 hours to get our food and it was pitiful. Won’t go there again.

Bavarian food like schnitzel or bratwurst, burgers, cream puffs that sort of thing. Sit at a long table European style with people you don't know and listen to an oompah band play. Lots of beer on tap including lager, dunkel, hefeweizen, and doppelbock. The Pittsburgh location is located on the southside with views of the Monongahela river from the back patio / outdoor seating.

The food was incredibly tasty. The only complaint I had was that the potatoes in the German potato could have been done a bit longer. It is a little loud, so not a great place for intimate conversations

The Hofbräuhaus keg tapping is an unforgettable experience that blends tradition, excitement, and German charm. From the keg parade before the keg tapping to the pouring of the keg; the energy in the room is electric. The live music, authentic German beer, and festive atmosphere make you feel like you’ve been transported straight to Munich. The staff is friendly and engaging, and the quality of the beer is outstanding—smooth, fresh, and perfectly poured. It’s more than just a drink; it’s a celebration of culture and community. Truly an excellent event that should not be missed!

Hofbrauhaus has a decent rotation of beer and pretty average food, but it’s unbelievably disappointing how they’ve pushed out other businesses. Anyone who lives in this area knows that we’ve had a ton of businesses close - it’s a real problem in the South Side. One business that seemed to do well was the Levity Brewing Truck that operated out of the new dog park. It was quite disappointing to see it replaced by a Hofbrauhaus truck because it’s one less option in the area, however, the real kicker is that this truck has been sitting there unoperated for over a year now. It’s gotten to a point where the tables have been removed and clearly not returning. What a shame to have yet another vacancy.

The service and atmosphere is top notch. I love the live music. They even sang Happy Birthday to my daughter. I am gluten free and they did have a good menu with a few options. It is very loud and that’s a positive for this momma with three kids!
