I had just come back a week earlier from an epic Scandinavian trip during which I visited IKEA restaurants in Norway, Denmark and even Sweden. So my expectations might have been unfairly high. Sadly, the American version in Pittsburgh just could not hold a candle to what’s going on over there. The food was of course predictable, but somehow bland and not hot. Lower stars for non-working fountain drinks, fewer offerings and also the hotdog and ice cream stand was closed. ...
Don’t underestimate the IKEA food court. Behind its modest setup hides an unexpectedly solid and genuinely tasty menu. This isn’t just a pit stop between aisles - it’s a comfort zone for those who appreciate honest, simple food done right.
I find myself coming back here from time to time just to enjoy that familiar, comforting flavor. IKEA’s food court is more than a quick bite - it’s a low-key culinary hug.

Guilty pleasure, comfort food. Served up cafeteria style. The cafe is located halfway through your IKEA walking tour. You'll find some Swedish style meals and yummy treats. If you haven't stopped by, I'd say it about time you tried. No true visit to IKEA is complete unless you experience and try the famous meatballs. No passport required.
