I had been missing Istanbul Grille terribly since I stopped working downtown. While their beautiful restaurant in Regent Square was an elegant treat, I will always prefer the casual, delicious, direct lunch bar. The owners are so kind and generous with portions and samples. Get there early if you can, or you may end up in line behind everyone else...and don't forget to bring CASH!

I have eaten at Josh's Istanbul Grille's going back decades to his first location in North Oakland. They have always provided healthy, nutritious, fresh, flavorful dishes. Vegetarian and meaty delights. I stopped in the other day at the downtown location and looked at the selection, just a beautiful array of colors. I recommend going beyond the dishes you've come to know from other ~middle eastern~ eateries, and explore the diversity of tastes on offer.

I heard this iconic place is now open again after moving across town.
Went to check it out and I can report the food is authentic and as good as it has always been.
Josh and his sister Ilkcan are the cooks and take pride in their culture and what they serve. They treat eachbperson as a part of their family.
It is in the basement food court of the US Steel building near a few other restaurants.
Great fresh variety and high quality Turkish food. Come early as they get a line of people.
You will not leave hungry, the owners are very friendly, patient and kind. The food is fresh and this is by far my favourite Mediterranean food place.
For the cost, you cannot go wrong here. Great service, tasty healthy food at a reasonable price.

Happened upon this place the Lawrenceville farmers market. The vendor was very kind and immediately offered a small bowl to our puppy, he proceed to give us generous portions for our meal, and rounded out his kind service by placing our meal as well as our other farmers market purchases into a to go bag. We were very impressed by his attention to detail and going out of his way to acknowledge our pup and other items. The food was delicious and we had enough for the next day!! Will try the storefront next!
