I'm glad the zoo is making improvements and the Grill is back open but this is a TEN DOLLAR Mac and cheese kids meal. Includes no side of drink and fits in the palm of my hand. Highway robbery and a shame... Do better Pittsburgh Zoo.

Very disappointed in the change that was made to Jambo. We are zoo members and are there several times a year and always ate here. The food was very good, they had great, unique offerings that were themed around the seasonal festivals, and the cafeteria style line was quite good at keeping the pace going.

The quality AND quantity of the food leaves a lot to be desired. We ordered personal pizzas and they were perhaps worse than school food. The drink fountains are gone, leaving you no refill options on drinks that cost them cents to provide.

I really hope the zoo management reconsiders what's going on here. This is the largest food venue in the park and it seems that nobody is happy with the change.

We have eaten here before and the food is good. But yesterday I wanted a coffee so we stopped in they have two options, hot and iced. I got the iced coffee with caramel, it was the worst coffee I have ever had in my life. It was in a plastic iced coffee cup but it was hot and didn’t have a single ice cube in it. They do have a good food menu though and if you sit outside you can see the animals which is cool

Ordered fries for $5.99 & an ice tea fountain drink for $6.49 filled with a cup full of ice. I asked for a refill and was told I’d have to buy another one. The point of getting a fountain drink is to get refills during the restaurant visit, however this place doesn’t allow it. I wouldn’t patronize this place again!!!

Insane prices, $7 for a fountain drink that you can not refill.

The drinks were watered down and the Pepsi wasn't even carbonated.

Smallest portions I’ve ever seen. The kids Mac n cheese is 3 spoon fulls, my kids are still hungry and it’s $10 total rip off.

Yikes! the food was terrible. We split the buffalo chicken wrap- I wasn’t expecting it to be cold with cold chicken. Minimal sauce and lettuce. Cold shredded cheese. The texture was so mushy and stringy I had to stop eating it. The chicken tenders were very dry and not very warm- my kid only eats chicken tenders and he could only tolerate 3 small bites before calling it- it looked hard to chew. My other son had 3 or 4 bites of the burger. The fries were decent but just tasted like a bag of freezer fries. Too awful to take pictures of. One positive note- you can see the giraffe from the tables if he decides to walk over by the restaurant.

They scam you with their refill option. The already extremely overpriced fountain drink is not refillable unless you buy the souvenir cup. But they do not let you know this beforehand (have to order on digital kiosk), and they do not let you upgrade from a normal cup to a souvenir cup after the fact. This is a predatory practice.

It was mid. The food was great. The coffee however was horrendous. My friends thought it was water from the safari. It looked like dirt and tasted like it too. Nothing like how it was advertised. Shame on you Jambo Grill.

Kid meals have become ridiculous. Smaller and smaller while being higher and higher priced. Maybe 3 oz of mac and cheese, 2 oz of unsweetened apple sauce, a 0.75 oz bag of goldfish crackers and a 7.2 oz can of apple juice for $9.99!!! My 9 year old had to eat her dad’s chicken tenders because the kids meal wasn’t filling at all. Insane!!

Not sure why there isn't a sign indicating where to place your order.
I was there mid-afternoon and it was quiet, workers seemed more interested in cleaning than taking orders or payment. It was very clean, and once I put in my order it was completed on a timely basis, but no one seemed interested in working there (not many people were working at the Zoo overall so I have to wonder what's driving that).
The food itself was ok. They were very heavy on the rice straw noodles, so it took a while for me to uncover the salad. It was ok, but definitely not worth $20.

Found a small hair in the asian crunch. Lost my appetite after that. The all american burger was dry. The fries were the only edible thing. Chicken tenders were also terrible. Sams club has better tenders in their frozen section. Would skip eating here next time. Paid almost $60 for terrible food… sticky tables and wet food trays. The only nice thing was the view! Loved watching the giraffe right from our table.
