I'm a serious fan of authentic Hong Kong cuisine and Ka Mai's is reasonably scored a 4 out of 5 stars on that front. Their shrimp wonton noodle soup for example was good but not great and seemed to have chopped shrimp rather than crispy whole small shrimp. The noodles were in a ball, indicating that they had been pre-cooked and dropped into the soup before serving; it took a fair amount of poking at the ball to get it to loosen in the hot soup. Favorite place to get congee and its got a nice sort of secret spot type of vibe!!! I stop after work for to go or sometimes sit in with friends!!! Still need to try their steamed fish dishes!!! Really love this place though can't believe I waited so long to go!!!

Ka Mei is the only place in Pittsburgh that serves the greatest Chinese comfort food around -- congee. It serves about 2 hungry people so the price may seem high but it is completely worth it. Authentic HK/Cantonese-style Chinese food (hot tea served in a pot!) and the owners are wonderful! When the quarantine is over and the world is healthy, Ka Mei is the first place I'm heading!
