Very good ice cream and shakes

Every time over the last 2 weeks the shop wasn’t opened. I’ve also called no answer.

Said they close at 10pm but we came at 9:30pm and they were closed.

After walking from the Terminal found out they didn't bother updating their listing or website that they're closed.

Very weird. We came in an hour after the place opened but it seemed like a ghost town. We didn't see anyone for about five minutes, when all of the sudden an Ursula looking woman came out from the back. She made every effort possible to not make eye contact, she was clearly very unhappy to be there. She did not greet us and even after she came out it was about another 5 minutes until she acknoledged us. Avoiding eye contact, no pleasantries. She did not use gloves AT ALL even after watching her text on her phone, except for opening a banana. The environment was just unenjoyable, chairs were still on all of the tables, she had to turn everything on to make our order, the music the entire time was sad contemporary, so much so that it must have been a sad music playlist on google. Perhaps the worker had recenelty gone through a breakup. The ice cream was very good, the service awful, environment macabre. Not what you remember from your childhood. Favorite place 5 yrs ago but not now. I returned to the area for this Holiday season and visited one of my most favorite ice cream parlor. I will say with great sadness that the new owners from Belgium have damaged a great business. I will not return in the future or reccomend this establishment. It's very expensive for the quality of the ice cream sundaes. The charm and nostalgia of the parlor is gone, the service was slow at best, and the way customers are served is confusing. I had my standard Amaretto Truffle sundae single scoop which was well over $8 and contained half a jar of Marchinio Cherries which normally had one on top of the whip cream. They also poured half of the Amaretto syrup out (back into the serving container). It was served in a small plastic cup and not the metal or glass sundae cups. They had limited flavors of ice cream in stock, no hot fudge, played moderately loud Disco music videos on a big screen TV. The visit was a disappointment, the place had very little business for a weekend/holiday, and we couldn't pay cash as we do in Da'Burgh to support local Mom & Pop businesses. For years this has been one of the Best places in Pittsburgh for bringing out of town guests to. The Charm is gone and is now a very sterile environment. You'll enjoy Scoops or Dairy Queen more for a better quality and price by about $3 less for equal amount of ice cream and without all the cherries.

Great tasting ice cream. Had strawberry and mint chocolate chip in a waffle cone. Old school soda shop vibe.

Watch out the 20% tips!!I would say if you have allot of disposable income this place will dispose of it for you. They don't show you their prices front and they don't give you a price breakdown until after you pay and get your receipt. They automatically include a 20% tip onto every order without giving option to opt out or set your own tip but they have an additional tip screen so you can give them more. What do you get for the tip? Well you get a sundae in plastic cup that you dispose of yourself. I don't think they make the ice cream on site so there not 100% sure what the premium pricing is for. I guess one is paying for the old timey decor and history. Or perhaps it's a tourist trap now.I'll just stick with Millie's or Dave and Andy. At least they make their own ice cream. I feel bad for them because their location kinda puts them out of main strip district area with allot of foot traffic. So word of mouth is important to them, but surprise charges angers me.

Disappointed. It said open at 2 and NO ONE was there. My sister came in from Texas and I REALLY wanted to share this BEAUTIFUL Ice Cream Parlor with her. We even tried to call. Maybe, if we have time will try again tomorrow.
