I was first in line on Monday, got pan chocolate and butter croissant. It was soggy, and blah. Not what I expected.
Great Joe and gnoshes
Truly outstanding. Very good coffee. Croissants and other pastries and the vibe are very reminiscent of Paris. Definitely worth a stop.
Hotel inside
Today I pick up my coffee and my sweet the coffee it’s nasty and old so I call the manager I told him but I think he is not manager because he don’t have any skills from customer service he don’t say sorry or offer me cup of coffee I don’t need anything put he don’t know how to speak to customer actually he is mean also
Everything looked incredibly good. There was a line when we arrive (Saturday morning 10am) but it moved very quickly. The playlist was the vibes, the service was quick and great. Would love to come back again! It looks small when you walk in but there’s additional seating outside as well.
I got 2 danishes ( raspberry and peach(?)), and quiche and oh MY GOD. so SO SO SO SO good. I have been raving about this all day. I saved the danishes for post first and second class and my jaw is DROPPED. So good :))
Also got an iced caramel latte :) very yummy
I grew up going to the La Gourmandine’s on Butler and was admittedly a bit suspicious when I saw new locations popping up.
But this location is just as amazing as the original, which is great because this one is much easier for me to get to.
Staff is always extremely friendly and welcoming and my order is always correct. I especially love the older gentleman whos normally wearing tie-dye.
Get there early if you want soup, they start to run out around the lunch rush!

Great little spot driving through Hazelwood. The OG store. They could use a couple more tables inside and possibly outside although the street is quite busy. Cool to look back into the bakery and see behind the scenes.

Stopped in on a Sunday morning and snagged the last mozzarella pie! The food and pastry were exquisite and just what we needed after a night out. My latte was also delicious. Definitely recommend coming here.

Everything about La Gourmandine is to be admired. The pastries, the sandwiches, the service.. every holiday and birthday is easy and as many years as I’ve been going here there has never been a hiccup. No notes, La Gourmandine is an asset to the city of Pittsburgh. I feel bad if you pass it up!

My favorite spot to stop in downtown. My last time in, I watched the staff go many extra miles in helping a customer who was hostile and suffering from some mental issues. Rihanna stood out as being super patient and accommodating.

Good enough, not as flaky and light as true french pastries, but worth a visit.
