Family got food poisoning from their food truck - it was awful. Practice better food safety.

This is a great Mexican restaurant in the south side. We were there a few weeks ago. The place has a lovely vibe and the staff is very friendly. We ordered table side guacamole, birria taco, tamale and enchiladas and a couple of mezcal cocktail the food and drinks we ordered were spectacular.

Did you know they have brunch?!? I didn’t, it was a welcomed surprise! The Ranchero Omelet ? was delicious. Highly recommend the pineapple margarita too, made with fresh juice.Kid-friendliness: Brought my 2 kids as well and they loved it.

Awesome brunch experience here. The staff is amazing and sauces are the bomb. We got the best breakfast burrito in town and the mojito was to-die-for. Def coming back!

Was excited to try the brick and mortar location finally, but I have to admit I was disappointed. I ordered the enchiladas verdes y mole with chicken. Enchiladas were decent but didn’t come out very hot. Mole sauce was a little sweet for me. Pinto beans were good but the rice had zero flavor.

My wife and I had a wonderful dining experience here. She had the lengua in salsa verde, which was A-mazing. I recently saw on IG tamales with Mole sauce, and La Palapa had them, they were out of this world. I really appreciate that they have plenty of vegetarian selections.Regarding drinks, the Corazón de Oaxaca was great! If you're a Manhattan kind of person, try this. It has a great twist. And Oscar the owner was a great host, thank you for your hospitality and for recommending the Pineapple infused Mezcal.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian Burritos

First time coming to this restaurant and most definitely will not be the last time. I had the lengua with verde salsa.... IT WAS SOOOOO GOOD and tender...melt in your mouth texture...the flavor and texture reminded me of how my beloved suegra would make it for tacos . Oscar, the host, and his staff was very friendly. The service and food will not disappoint! The guacamole was freshly made and hit the spot with my meal. Will would recommend La Palapa to our friends and family.

Great vibes, food and staff!! Everyone was so friendly and they were able to make separate chips from scratch in a separate fryer to ensure they were gluten free. We loved that they made the guac at the table and that we could choose our toppings. We had tacos (the chicken taco was the best), a quesadilla, flautas de pollo, and an empanada. This is a great casual Mexican spot. We really enjoyed.

Food poisoning from shell fish on top of terrible service and food so salty it seemed purposeful. Read the low reviews. How has the health department not shut this place down for good?
