Nice old German bar restaurant in Pittsburgh's Northside. My 75 year old mother, cousin, cousin's husband and I all met here for lunch. To briefly summarize, it was a very good quality overall experience.

I had soup and split the Reuben sandwich with my mother. Both soups and the sandwich were very tasty. Max's was very busy during lunch on the day we stopped, Service was very good even during the busy lunchtime rush.

I haven't had authentic German food since visiting Vienna, Austria in 2006. I had heard wonderful things about Max's. I ordered the Wiener Schnitzel with applesauce and french fries. The food in this place was delicious! I couldn't recommend it enough. The food is a little pricy though, but it's very worth it for what you get. My service was amazing, too. They brought things on the first time when you asked and weren't needy on the "how's the food" or the refills!
