We have had good dinners at Nancetta's previously, so we were disappointed when we were served burned veal, mushy pasta (homemade, but mushy), and service that was disorganized and inattentive. The place does not have its act together.

Our reservation was for 6:30 for 7 adults and 2 kids. Thank God we ordered the kids meals first because it took over an hour and a half for the adults to get their meals!! This is not the first time we've waited forever for meals!! My father ordered soup and his took the longest to come out!! It was the last thing served. The shrimp I added to mine was gummy yet slimy and was really gross. We will not be going back.

As repeating customers, we invited friends to join us at Nancetta's Ristorante as a party of four for our get-together dining. This five-star Italian restaurant, locally-owned, is tucked away in the one of the nooks and crannies of Pittsburgh and consistently delivered the best of the best dishes in the form of spreads, appetizers, salads, soups, entrees, deserts and speciality drinks, all of which are freshly made within the realm of Italian cuisine. Our bartender and waiter, Tommy, new to Nancetta provided impeccable attention to our table, above-and-beyond service to our party that is professional, thoughtful, courteous, accommodating, caring, kind, considerate, respectful, attentive and passionate with humor. The owners, husband and wife, equally provide such service to our table and noticeably to all other tables in the restaurant. This restaurant is indeed a rare, precious gem conveniently located close to the exit of Route 28. For those looking for a top notch small, reliable local restaurant that serves up freshly made, homemade Italian cuisine, this is it. Our sincere thanks and gratitude to Tommy and the owners of Nancetta's Ristorante. Our party of four expect to be repeating customers at this exceptional Italian restaurant.

Server was AMAZING. She did the best she could in the situation. Food was good but the kitchen really needs to have a better understanding of time management.

I was pleasantly surprised by Nancettas Ristorante. The owner greeted my luncheon companion and I, suggested an excellent Chianti to have with my meal, as well as prepared entrees. I was most happy with my Ceasar Salad because whole anchovies were used and not a paste! Something you don't always find anymore. My entree was the Seared Tuna which was a bit more cooked than I liked (prefer it mostly raw) however, that did not take away from the experience. I look forward to dining in this quaint little Italian ristorante again!Parking: Sizable parking lot.Wheelchair accessibility: Handicap parking available.

I am the guy from the previous review who only likes “Pittsburgh Italian”. First off I didn’t comment on the smell because I didn’t want to be rude. But honestly I shouldn’t have to comment on the smell of a restaurant. Secondly the portions were tiny. In addition to the five bites of veal I was given my brother in law ordered the rack of wild boar. It was two bones on an empty plate for a premium price. Also, they sneakily charged us 14 dollars for salads that were marked 10 on the menu. The salad in question was the made to order Cesar salad which looked to be topped with Kraft parmesan. It tasted like old romaine lettuce covered in too much Worcestershire. If Italians like to get ripped off in a smelly restaurant call me a yinzer anyday. BTW I have eaten all over the world including Italy, stay away from Nancettas.

Why we didn’t leave when we walked in and was hit in the face with what smelled like sewer gas is beyond me. I’ve never experienced something like this in my life. Service was slow… server was nice but everything took so long to arrive which was odd because we were one of 3 tables in the dining room. Prices online were less than half of the price on the actual paper menu. Portions were tiny, oddly plated, and unappetizing. Taste was awful. We will never return. I’m shocked this place has so many good reviews.

The service took forever. Food came to different people at different times. Portions were terribly small and over priced. Food not good. The place smelled like a sewer. Yeah I know that sounds weird but it was true. All around bad experience.

Restaurant smells like a sewer. Portions terribly small. Took forever to get food. Terrible experience.

I'm 75 years old and eat out at least 2 times a week. I've been to at least 75% of all the restaurants in Pittsburgh over 50 years. and Nancetta's is the absolute worst I've ever been to.The restaurant smelled like sewer gas, portions were tiny, prices on the menu were lower than when we got our bill, web site prices all lower, $10 for a small plate of buttered pasta for my 8 yr old granddaughter, the wild boar entreewas 2 small bones & no sides for $39, veal parm tiny with no sides $35, the duck very disappointing for $39. The best thing was the edible flowers that decorated the plates ! Service was good but at least an hour To get our entrees! Our total was $348 82 . I left 18% tip instead of my usual 20% cause Our waitress was nice. I was embarrassed that I brought my family there ! We all gave it a chance and tried to be up beat! So disappointing and an expensive lesson learned!

We love this place every time we visit. The owners are so attentive and make you feel like their guests. The food is delicious but I really appreciate their appetizer boards that take at least 20 minutes to prepare but are absolutely amazing visually and sets the mood for the experience.

2nd time coming. And I enjoyed this visit a lot more. I ordered the chicken parmigiana with spaghetti. Fantastic! Just wished the portions were alittle bigger. But I was content. My side salad was perfect with olives, cheese and chickpeas. Service was good. Short staffed like everyone else.
