Pittsburgh Sandwich Society Food Truck

TWO HOURS LATER and 45 minutes after we received a text confirming order was ready for pick up: wrong order, cold food, on top of a menu with no mods and limited options. Wouldn’t recommend esp. if you are angling for a veggie burger (ours was beef, not veggie).

Had them at strange roots. Grilled chicken was like eating a shoe. Burger looked good and friend said it was good. Took an hour to get it. Eh. Probably won't order again

I love coming to get food here when we come to Strange Roots in Millvale. Burgers are great, fries are great and the service is pretty quick. We like to come to Strange Roots when the weather is nice so we can sit outside in their lovely outdoor area and get some fresh air, drink good beer and eat good eats.

Has potential to be a top spot in the city. Service is abysmal. Order is consistently 15-20 minutes late and half of the order will be soggy/cold by the time it is brought out. Pickup system is a Chipotle shelf and orders are often taken incorrectly. No one monitors or checks on customers waiting. But if timely and fresh, the food here is great.

Went for the fish sandwich but they were out of that + the spicy chicken sandwich. We tried the In-N-At burger, Ol Dirty Flat Top burger, and loaded fries. Your typical run of the mill smash-burgers, we thought it was pretty good. However, very disappointed in the time it took to receive our order. We didn’t realize you had to place an order in advance-our mistake. We ordered our food at 6:30, and our order said pickup at 7:30. We sat down and enjoyed some beers for the hour wait. However, the food was not ready at the 7:30 pickup time. We did not receive our order until after we asked the staff around 8:00. The atmosphere was cozy with the outdoor seating, the drinks were good, but we were not expecting to wait an hour and a half for a couple of burgers. Would return for drinks but the food service would push us away from ordering dinner again.

Nice spot for sandwiches. Menu is somewhat limited, but they have most of the basics (traditional burgers and then the chicken alternatives). Good prices for the most part. I got to try their grilled chicken club.

It was very well made. $13, a decent price, and the chicken was definitely pretty high quality. I do with it came with fries or some sort of side, but it was still good. Bacon was amazing: large slabs, and very crispy. Green sauce was flavorful and bun was nicely toasted.

All in all, I would recommend this spot. The sides are more a la carte so it might drive the price up quite a bit, but the burgers and sandwiches are some of the best around. Great for takeout too.
