Pretty OK sushi spot. Used to be another sushi place but I think either they just renamed or sold it. This new place isn't anything too special, but it's still decent. I like that they have a make your own bowl option, as well as many of the classic sushi rolls. I tried their build your own bowl with tempura shrimp, carrots, sushi rice, sweet corn, and yum yum sauce.

I expected there to be a bit more protein than there actually was. Only about 4 small sized pieces of tempura. The rice itself was fine, and portion was decent as well. Vegetables tasted a little unfresh, with the corn likely being canned. The yum yum sauce was quite good though, creamy and sweet. Predominantly rice based dish.

All in all, it's alright spot. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, and there are definitely better places in the area, but it's not bad.

Vegetarian options: Can build vegetarian bowls and some vegetarian rolls

Dietary restrictions: Can eat pretty healthy here

I ordered online and called to cancel my order because the atarashi by my house closed i guess, and the order was placed at a restaurant far from me. since i ordered through toast and they didn't have the option to cancel. I called the restaurant 5 times and they told me there wasn’t anyone in to cancel my order . First they said i had to do it through the app because they couldnt cancel it (the app said i had to call them) then i spoke with someone at the restaurant (she gave me attitude) and then she said they had spoken to some Amanda, and they were going to do a refund (which would talked up to 1 business day (which just sounded she wanted to get rid of me) cause i never heard from this amanda. So i never got the food or my money back.

It’s a great experience to customize my own sushi bowl. However, it would be disappointing to only have a few pieces of Ahi Tuna. I ordered a Hawaiian bowl. It turned out to have a lot of rice with a little bit of tuna. The pice was high too. I’m pretty sure I can find delicious poke bowls with reasonable price in other restaurants around this neighborhood.

Absolutely bad. Portion is very VERY small. Poke bowl costs more than $12, pretty much got a bowl of white rice with sprinkles of seaweed. Salmon tastes like it’s been dead for a month. Never seen anything worse, awfully place, don’t go!

I’ve been going here since this place was called Sushi Fuku back in 2017 and I gotta say I realllyyy miss it. Since Atarashis takeover I have not noticed any improvements, in fact the food got significantly more expensive and the service got much slower. You used to be able to order your food in line and watch them prepare it in front of you, with the ability to customize. Now, you order on a screen with limited ability to customize and often wait 10-15 mins for your food. The containers in which the food is served changed from small, cardboard like containers to large, plastic ones, which feels very wasteful. The quality of the food is good and I still come here a lot, but I will never forget the old Sushi Fuku

Make your own poke bowl was great. Thai iced tea wasn’t very good and the boba was a weird rubbery texture.

Delicious food, easy to order kiosk system, friendly service, and worth every penny. I'll definitely be back!

I got the Lucky Bowl and a Matcha Milk Tea this time. I recommend eating in so you have time to savor every bite. ?

I loved this place ! Went on a whim. Looking for something good but semi healthy in Oakland. Got the beef bowl 1/2rice 1/2 salad base. No chili powder. It was perfect. Very filling I ate it in 2 days.

Their hours listed online and on the door say that they close at 9. We arrived at 8:40 and were rudely told by the staff that they would not be accepting anymore orders for the night. We’ve been to this restaurant multiple times before and it takes maybe 5 minutes total for them to make our two rolls, and we were planning on getting them to go, which is why we didn’t feel bad about arriving so close to their closing time. So we walked out and a kind gentleman that had seen what happened recommended we try Mount Everest Sushi next door. So that’s exactly what we did! The staff was much kinder, and the sushi was definitely way more authentic and tasty. So from now on, we’ll be giving Mount Everest our business over Atarashi.
