The Eagle - Pittsburgh Reviews
Food is good… if you can get it. They’re not actually open during their posted hours. They randomly close with no notice. If you’re really close, sure try to get lucky and catch them when they feel like being open. But don’t risk driving here because you’ll likely go home hungry and just waste your time, gas and toll money.

The Eagle is a popular restaurant in downtown Pittsburgh that offers exceptional fried chicken and a variety of delectable sides. The menu features classic comfort foods like Mac & cheese, horseradish potatoes, collard greens, and biscuits. The hot honey served with the chicken adds a unique touch, though some find its flavor a bit medicinal. The staff is generally friendly and efficient, providing good service, although there can be occasional inconsistencies, especially during busy hours.
Guests have recommended the Hush Puppies and Succotash, while the fried chicken BLT continues to be a standout item. The restaurant is quite popular, particularly during peak times, so it's advisable to make a reservation. The atmosphere is inviting, with open windows during the summer enhancing the overall dining experience. Many diners have praised the food and the service, finding it to be a pleasant experience.
The menu offers a nice variety of well-liked comfort foods, and the shareable sides are fun to try. The Quarter Chicken, both light and dark, is very good, and the salad choices are also very good. The spoonbread and Mac and cheese are particularly noteworthy, with wonderful flavors. The service is generally attentive, and the prices are reasonable. The Eagle is a must-visit spot for those looking for tasty food and a cozy vibe.
